What a neat car... the first photo though drives me crazy with the hood up...
I am probably in the minority, but I kinda want to sink it all in when I see a car, and having the hood up just doesn't do it for me...
 
I agree with the hood down thing....the car was designed to look the way it does with the hood down. If someone wants to see under there, sure I will open it up. To me, a car with the hood open looks like it is at the dentist waiting to have it's "teeth" looked at....what can I say, I'll admit it's a strange comparison, but that's what it looks like to me.
 
Whenever I display my coach at a car show, the hood is down. Its not like its a street rod with a chrome laden power plant. Its just a stock Lincoln 5.0 engine. Yes, i agree it looks better with the hood down. (However, there IS a picture of my car on the internet that shows it with the hood open but the picture was taken during LCOC judging.) I will open the rear loading door while the car is on display and when I see people taking pictures I offer to cloe the door so they can get a better picture.
 
I agree, a car shows and looks better with the hood down. Unless you really got something to show off under there, i say leave it closed.
