I was looking through some pictures today I found these photos of Kurt Arends Superior 54 in service at Decatur Ambulance Service in Decatur IL. I also located a picture of it out of service in cold storage with The owner ( Dave Burkham) of Decatur Ambulance Service standing next to it. The in service picture is a Bob Hedges photo. I took the out of service picture some years ago.

I know a man that cut up the old fire hose and used it for drive belts in his blacksmith shop. quite a pile there might explain a dip or two in the hood.

Here's another photo of the 75 Superior from Decatur Ambulance Decatur, IL. The photo was from a festival in downtown Decatur, sorry the year I took this escapes me.

Yes, that hood is going to be in the scrap pile by Spring, along with both front fenders. I just purchased a replacement for the hood a few weeks ago, not a mile from where I live. Between the "dips" and the holes from the Federal Fireballs, it was just cheaper and easier to replace it with a nice hood. That "dry storage" photo is really a sad one!

It will be nice to see this one running and restored soon...

lay the hood on it's side. just standing there it will bend the corners up. they are a bear cat to put back on by your self. but only around 5 ft by 5 ft

Kurt... are you going to put Fireballs on the new hood?

it was 1986

the downtown Decatur photo is from 1986. Sitting beside the '75 Superior is (formerly) my '73 Cotner-Bevington Olds 48"..........we had a "mini-meet" show at the Decatur Celebration, the weekend before the Tulsa, OK International Meet.
