Personalized Funerals

If you missed the CNN report on Mr. Kime’s “Burger King Funeral,” here is the link which is now the first item to pop up if you do a Google search for “Burger King Funeral.”

CNN interviewed a daughter of the deceased. Listening to her words and seeing them on the screen as the video plays tells a story that increases the awareness factor for the general public in a way that enables people to realize that not only is it okay to personalize a tribute ceremony but that what can be done is only limited by one’s imagination.

Although neither the name of the firm nor the name of the funeral director was mentioned in the report, there was a much greater value to this story. Thanks to Nate Ray, the funeral director and certified celebrant who made this happen.

I believe this story is another example that the best funeral directors are also certified celebrants who demonstrate the relevance of what we do by orchestrating unique and meaningful tributes and avoiding cookie-cutter funerals. The extra effort translates to exponentially enhance value for our customers and their guests.

and future guests as people say " i want to go like that". i never knew about certified celebrants just anything a family wanted if it was legal and proper. but whats proper to you and me is not to someone else. like my dad always said, givem what they want and charge accordingly.

They had a show on tv a couple of months ago, only seen it run one time, about a black family owned funeral home that specialized in customized service. One of the funerals was for a guy that like BBQ, they had sauce running thru a fountain, and a big party. The second half was at a state fair, where the guy was cremeted and they took him on the rides. The family was located in Texas. I think it was suppose to be a reality show, but I guess it got dropped.
Anyone else see this show?
