Well the Ohio and Tri-State Chapters cleaned up big at the Smith Ambulance 30th Anniversary Specialty Vehicle Show. Representing with cars was Dan Skivolocke with his 59 Limousine and 59 Rescuer Ambulance, Wayne and Eileen Shoenecker with one of their horse drawn hearses, Jerry Jacobson with his 82 Superior Sovereign Combination, Ron Devies with the 1970 Ford MCC (Pinner) Ambulance and 1975 Cadillac Superior 54" Ambulance, Mark & Debbie Teague with their 59 Cadillac Superior Hearse. In addition to this was the fine fleet of Smith Ambulances including his latest acquistion a 1962 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbriar Ambulance. A 1963 Ford Mayberry cruiser complete with Barney Fife Look Alike. Several restored fire apparatus including a 1949 ALF. The Care Bear Medivac Chopper from Akron Children's and Med-Flight Chopper was also on hand.
The PCS cleaned up: In EMS Division, Dan's 59 Rescuer took third place, our 75 Superior took 2nd. We both were beat out by a beautiful 1956 Pontiac Superior. Tried to recruit the guy but he was a hardcore Pontiac Oakland member. In funeral division, Shoenecker's horse drawn took third, Dan's limo took 2nd and Teagues took first. All votes were by attendees.
It was a fun day and we all went downtown afterward to a great Italian Ristorante and had a great meal. Jerry has some great pictures to share.
