PCS members Mike McDonald, Tom Shafer, and Chris Bruno recently participated in the Alisha Ann Ruch Burn Foundation "Peninsula Burn Relay". They joined a motorcade made up of both current and retired emergency vehicles for an 8 hour Code-3 run. The relay started at Moffett Field in Mt. View (Silicon Valley), and ended at the San Francisco Fire Department's training facility in the city's Mission District.

Steve: Some of (umpity-up) cities we went thru prevented ANY siren use. The Tiller Aerial was a Seagrave (V-12) originally from Bakersfield, CA (with little done to it since then).... owned piloted by Len Williams who is the President of the California SPAMMFAA Chapter. He has a large collection of fire apparatus including some I believe in a museum back East... maybe Detroit?) MM

Steve: Our 1970 (4X4) X-NDF CROWN has it's original naturally aspirated 8V-92 tagged at 350 HP.... as you noticed-heard.... very "Detectable DNA" even at a distance! MM

I liked the run at the Summer Meet in '02 when you still had your big Cadillac ambulance and I got to drive Lou's hightop Suburban in the Code 3 run!

Haven't gotten to do anything like that since.
