What (if any) additional sections are there on this forum board which are hidden or only accessible to paid PCS members or site supporters?
Thanks!
Thanks!
.........The newsletter is also often touted as also being well worth the membership fees alone, however I am the rare exception as mail service where I am is problematic and unreliable, so lost mail is more the “norm” than the exception if you get the mail at all. Some guy a few miles down the road would be enjoying the newsletters while I was questioning the Postmaster as to where the heck my mail was.

Thank you for the wonderful post with screen shots. It’s greatly appreciated and although not really anything “secret” as you say, it is still unknown to those who are not actual members of the PCS and have that access that the PCS members do.
I can understand non-PCS members not really needing (or probably having interest) in participating in the PCS member discussion forums section about past and current events, bylaws, and other such PCS business but I find it perplexing that the off-topic section is also only reserved for PCS members or site supporters.
I would personally think that the subsections within the “off-topic” section (as listed) would be beneficial to anyone visiting or posting information on the open board as a registered member even if not a PCS member or site supporters.
Slightly off topic, fire engines, police cars, van style ambulances, trains, and web-site suggestions.
Just the other day I posted an image inside a medical train in a thread and even mentioned in that thread, that such a “train” image was slightly off topic and was totally unaware of the fact there is a subsection for trains until I was told. Of course not being a PCS member or site supporters prevented me from seeing that section or subsection or even knowing it existed.
I’m not trying to knock it or take a pot shot but I just don’t understand the “train” section being a reserved privilege for only PCS members or site supporters. That’s confusing to me, but the larger picture I see from preventing general forum users access to those off topic sections is the fact maybe several posts then end up in incorrect sections with restricted access. That in return I would think causes issues and additional work for the moderators moving posts and threads.
Then the other day I also posted a thread in general discussion and it was moved to a proper section of the board which unfortunately I didn’t have access to and therefore I wasn’t able to respond to a thread I had in fact created. It was later moved back to the general discussion section after it was brought to the attention of the staff.
So with the points I am making here, the argument could also be made that these are “Web-Site suggestions, but again since I don’t have access to that portion of the forum board or section then I cannot post my thoughts there in the proper thread. Therefore the section on “Web site suggestions” also gets missed by those who are not members of the PCS or site supporters but who regularly participate on the forum.
I simply ask my original question of what sections there were not to cause any problems but to get clarification since I myself have had two recent incidents that have caused me to ask what sections I am not seeing.
There will be others who will then chime in and tell me then it’s time I step up and become a PCS member and that my dues in part help support this great site. I can understand that argument to a point however I am under the belief that any website is "made" by the people who participate and contribute content, information and images. Therefore I feel I am doing my small part in supporting this site with my contributions, albeit limited contributions.
Where I see the benefits of joining the PCS are valid would be for any professional car owner who was interested in attending PCS car meets, having their car judged, PCS meetings, getting official PCS stickers, and other PCS gear and goodies.
The newsletter is also often touted as also being well worth the membership fees alone, however I am the rare exception as mail service where I am is problematic and unreliable, so lost mail is more the “norm” than the exception if you get the mail at all. Some guy a few miles down the road would be enjoying the newsletters while I was questioning the Postmaster as to where the heck my mail was.
Since I do not own a professional car or attend PCS meets that shouldn’t disqualify me (or anyone) from having a pro-car interest or participating on this forum in its fullest capacity (which for the most part it doesn’t or hasn't) other that the PCS section which goes without saying.
Again thank you for the great response, it’s much appreciated and I hope my post is just food for thought!
I have a hard time believing that the United States Postal Service in Dallas Texas is that bad.
Postal Service Debt to Hit $45 Billion
The U.S. Postal Service, which lost $1.3 billion in its first quarter, said its debt could reach $45 billion by around 2017 if Congress doesn’t pass legislation allowing it to change its business model.
Joining the PCS is a good thing, you will not be disappointed.
