PCS folk quoted in JFK car stories for OLD CARS WEEKLY, GLOBE & MAIL

As the Professional Car Society has proven an essential source of expertise on Presidential vehicles even before the JFK Pontiac ambulance authentication controversy of January, 2011, it will likely come as no surprise to you that former OLD CARS WEEKLY Editor (and current contributor) John Gunnell looked to Yours Truly and Thomas A. Pherson for quotes and insights concerning John F. Kennedy's SS-100-X Lincoln Continental parade car.

The on-line version of the two-page feature Gunnell ultimately wrote for OCW's November 21st, 2013 issue has been posted at http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/news/e...story-jfk-tragedy?et_mid=649187&rid=241949632, with the only error of consequence being that the car's original, multi-piece removable bubble top wasn't actually bullet-resistant and was intended for weather protection only (there is also a small typo where McPherson becomes "McCall" in the paragraph immediately following the photo of the JFK car passing a Rexall drugstore). More importantly, my hopes are high that many OCW readers will take advantage of the direct link to the PCS website that was thoughtfully provided in the article's second paragraph.

I am similarly pleased to note that McPherson and myself were also quoted extensively in Jason Tchir's November 20th, 2013 feature on Presidential vehicles for THE GLOBE AND MAIL of Toronto, which can also conveniently be viewed on-line at http://www.theglobeandmail.com/glob...news/all-the-presidents-cars/article15515674/.

The valuable knowledge shared by Mr. Merksamer and Mr. McPherson in the attached articles is the reason why I joined the PCS. Thank you for your willingness to educate me/others and for elevating the discussion on this board that was so recently negative, petty and unworthy. Thank you, gentlemen.
