Are you coming to Hudson for the international meet this summer, but you're not signed up for the Stan Hywet tour on the Friday of the meet? Then this post is for you! A lot of you have signed up for the tour, but in case you didn't, I wanted to show you some pics of how amazing this place is. I was there yesterday for a car show and took some pics for you.
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens was built for F. A. Seiberling, founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron. At 64,500 square feet, Stan Hywet is the 7th largest private home ever built in the United States. It has 65 rooms that have all been restored to how they looked when the Seiberlings lived there. The house and the furnishings are ridiculous to say the least. It sits on 70 acres of English gardens, which you can check out too.
Friday afternoon of the meet, we will be getting a guided tour of the manor house and self guided tours of the gate lodge (the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous), conservatory and the gardens.
If you already registered for the meet, but didn't buy tickets to Stan Hywet, email me at info@pcs2011.com for info on how to get your tickets. Can't remember if you got tickets for Stan Hywet and can't find your order confirmation email? Email me and I can check if you got tickets too.
And now for some pictures of the exterior and gardens to see how cool this place really is.
