Paint scheme on my 66

I am currently in the process of painting my 1966 Cadillac mm ambulance .i want to paint it green because the ambulance service I own had green ambulances . Anyone have a suggestion as to how to find a paint code for a darker green color. It is In the shop as I type this

If you need to look at something fast, just google---Cadillac paint colors for samples of Cadillac paint charts viewed on line. Or you can use the auto color library on line at ww.tcpglobal.com/auto color library and filter for your year/make. This will give you good samples/color names/codes for each year Cadillac you wish to view. Hope this helps in a pinch.

just don't go back to the Lovelock NV colors of princess green and dutch green. man they looked bad on that car.. but of course the easiest way is to drop down to the local paint store and pick out the green for the 66. go back and year if the tone is not right. all that looking at colors will do is confuse one. if you have any sample of the green your looking for them the fleet service chips can be of help. but if your guessing it's just pick one.

I think that the problem with the two greens that Art Gregory tried on the car, were the correct named colors, but the wrong colors for the car. By that, I mean that the name of the color is the same, but there can be many shades and variations of the color that use that name. I found this was the case when researching Bolero Red... It varied from a bright red to almost a maroon. You need to look at what was originally on the car, but sanding down to the original color, and then trying to duplicate that color if possible. There is more to a color than just the name...

they were two bad greens combined . it looked good on the 55 but not on the 66. but how true you are on the name. if it a catchy name they may use it again a few years later with a different color . or as in the case of MM they would rename the colors to fit the use. now here are the 66 gm chips notice how the same color has a different name in he different modals

This one didn't look that bad in person, must have been a gloomy picture day after the previous night run down some back country dirt roads.... that they had a lot of around Lovelock. Going thru there in their heyday I remember seeing them parked on the outside apron next to the main highway during the day ready to respond and nearly always clean. (*) I kind of like GREEN.... it's an Irish Thing! MM
