Pac NW Chapter looses a friend

It is with a heavy heart that I report that a dear friend and supporter of the Pacific Northwest Chapter Richard Smith has passed away. Richard & his brother Michael are 2 of the movers & shakers in the local Rain City Hearse Club. Without Rain City's help & support, we woud never have been able to put on our annual fundraiser car show for the Northwest Burn Foundation. Richard passed away this morning after a battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Two years ago, Richard realized his dream of owning his own coach, and purchased a 1976 Cadillac S&S Limousine style combo which he was bringing back to stock appearance. Just last night his brother Michael & his son got the car running and he was aware enough to know this! Richard, you will be missed but not forgotten!

Thanks for posting about his passing. I remember you having mentioned the name in the past as Richard being a strong helping hand to the Pacific Northwest Chapter. May he rest in peace, and our condolences to his family and friends.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Richard's family and to you Rick, it always hurts to lose a close friend.

I was told tonight that the family will be transporting Richard to the Tahoma National Cemetary in Richards coach for his last ride. If for some reason the coach misbehaves and lays down, an alternate coach will be my 86 S&S Lincoln.

Farewell but not forgotten

Richard was laid to rest today at the Tahoma National Cemetary today with full military honors. He was brought to the cemetary in his 1976 Cadillac Combination Coach with his brother Michael driving. The night before he passed on,Michael & his son were able to get the car running and Richard heard the car fire up and drive up & down the street. A new exhaust system was intalled prior to the service and a set of rollers & bier pins were found to go into the rear. I had never been to Tahoma National before; it is a lovely park like setting and a wonderful tribute to our fallen veterans.

Rick,

Thank you for keeping us posted. I am so sorry to hear of Richard's passing. My thoughts will be with his family and friends tonight and for a long time to come.

It was a great gesture that his brother and son were able to get his coach running not only for him to hear it and know that it was running, but to also be able to use it for the funeral.

RIP Richard!

I know this post is belated as Mr. Smith has passed on and is already laid to rest but I'd like to wish the family my sincere condolences on the loss of a loved one and that Mr. Smith may Rest In Peace....My apologies for a belated 'With Sympathy'.
