one more thing to watch out for

I got a call from a transport co saying there driver would be here on Monday morning to pick up a 66 hearse. left a couple phone numbers and all. I called the drivers number and he stated he was in Mt. would be down on tuesday to pick up. kind of vague on for who and were it was going. so dropped a Note to Jim and he sent me one back "what driver" . just one more thing to worry about now that we are in the season to send things back and forth. I would never have let the car be loaded with out being told that arrangements were made. nor would Jim have made arrangements with out telling me. as a precaution I have let the locales know and they will keep a eye out on the car. intresting scam easy enough to find out info on things.

Never thought about it...

Thanks Ed for the post. I never thought about it before but we are fairly liberal with the amount of information we post at times. Anyone following the posts could very easily put together a time line to arrange a "pick-up"...and off they drive. Now having said that, the vehicles we own are not something in high demand (except to us) and are fairly recognizable when they end up on the market.

I'm hoping someone will steal my Criterion.....and bring it back with the body work, paint, head liner and floor done! :rofl1:

This does sound like a scam and you really should notify the local or state police about this. They may want to set up a "sting" where they have him come somewhere and they are waiting.

I think the mystery is now solved . Jim asked them for a quote and they apparently just happened to have a man going from east to west. the pick up was not set up. but a call out of the blue on saterday does make you wounder.
