God of peace, we pray for those who have served our nation and have laid down their lives to protect and defend our freedom. We pray for those who have fought, whose spirits and bodies are scarred by war, whose nights are haunted by memories too painful for the light of day. We pray for those who serve us now, especially for those in harm’s way. Protect their families as they protect us. Shield them from danger and bring them home. Turn the hearts and minds of our leaders and our enemies to the work of justice and a harvest of peace. In Jesus’ name we pray; Amen.

AMEN

To all who served.......a heartfelt "THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE". For all who gave their lives in service to our country.......a simple promise and vow to never ever forget, and be sure that their sacrifice was not in vain!!!

Well stated - Thank you.

To all veterans: regardless the era, the MOS, the rank, the duty station - I am proud to call you my brothers and sisters in arms. God Bless. may this Veterans' Day of 11.11.11 be one of peaceful reflection and pride. You put on the uniform and honored the oath that you swore. Welcome Home and Thank You for your service. :smileflag:

I'll toss in my bit for the guy that answered the call served his oblate time did, as he was ordered to with the best of his ability, keep his nose clean and his rack tight. stayed out of trouble didn't get hurt. came back home a better person for serving. then went about his life with out bragging or requesting some one owed him big time for doing his duty. he is the one that your surprised to find out was a veteran when you read there obit. but he was the one that made America the nation it was. now there is the one thing he has failed in doing. passing on his work ethics to the next generation. so how in trying to make sure that kids did not have to go threw what they did we ended up with. the the dip ridding around on his unmuzzled Harley in tattered remnants of a uniform with torn flags flying shouting you owe me big time M&^%*# F^%$#@. I don't have a answer to this. but I truly believe that there is enough of the quite people still here to fix this to. veterans day is the time to remember there were people out there that put there lives on hold to do a duty so we could live in peace. the vast majority of them we will never know they did. but we are better off because of them. all gave some. Happy Vets day to all that served with respect and dignity there countries call so there people could live out there dreams. :thumb:
