Old Timers Meet The New Kid On The Block

Last Saturday I attended the Santa Clara County Emergency Services reunion. This was a first ever event that I co-chaired with two other old timers. The reunion drew over 100 current and retired ambulance, ER, dispatch, police and fire personnel from the Silicon Valley. We had a tropical theme and everone dressed in their Aloha duds. I invited the new paramedic ambulance provider, Rural-Metro, to attend. Their contract begins on 7/1/11, so they were able to bring one of their new ambulances. Some of us had not seen each other for over 35 years, so it was a great reunion.
