Ohio PCS procar picnic weekend pics

This past weekend, the Ohio PCS hosted their annual procar picnic. We had a bit smaller turnout than we sometimes do because a lot of the out of towners are busy getting their cars ready for Hudson. Even so, we managed to have five procars and about 15 chapter members. Below are a couple of pics from the picnic - thanks to Jerry for taking them.

The day after the picnic, five PCS members were in attendance for Stan Hywet's annual Father's Day Car Show. This prestigious invite only car show usually has around 400 cars, which come not just from Northeast Ohio, but various other states too. Mark Rodgers brought his brand new 1934 S&S carved panel, which will be restored after the international meet, Bud Heffley brought Bruce Taylor's '54 Packard Henney ambulance and I brought my '66 combo. Below are pics of our cars at the show and a neat wagon that was on display in the gold circle.

Thanks to everyone that joined us for the weekend. See you again in a few weeks!

Nice looking bunch there. Ron the Olds sure is looking good. Anyone happen to get a close up pic of the 67 Ford F100 in the back ground of the Packard pic?

Josh

Wow, that's....interesting and unique. I look forward to seeing it when it has been restored!
Mark found it a couple of months ago. It was a barn find from Iowa. A group of Shriners got their hands on the car in the 1940s and turned it into a clown car. He's looking forward to restoring it to its original condition. He's planning on having it at the meet in Hudson, so you can see this "interesting and unique" coach for yourself. ;)

This is a pic that Mark sent me that may better help you picture what the car will look like once it's restored. Yes, the fake calliope on top is removable. :)

The car is missing its roof though, so Mark will have to recreate it.

Is that you Sarah standing behind Ron's Oldsmobile? Trying to figure out who the people are.

Yep, that's me. Did you forget what I looked like since last time you saw me? ;)

Maybe it's time that we do another one of those picture threads on the board. I know we had one back on the old one where people would post pictures of themselves so people would know who they were at meets. Want to start things off?

Good point - I have been growing it out lately.

As for the Packard, no it's not Bill Wright's. It actually belongs to PCS member Bruce Taylor. His relative, Bud Heffley takes it out for exercise while Bruce is busy working in Abu Dabi. Both Bruce and Bud will be at the meet though.

I think Bill's was a service car.

I was just curious as to where the rest of you is. You've been a very good girl and look fantastic.

Here you go.....

What part of Iowa did it come from. I must be slipping, I wish I would of found it first!!

Not sure - I just sent him a message to find out. I think he found it online somewhere, but I don't know what city it came from. I'll let you know when he gets back to me.

I searched thoroughly to find more info online of this carved panel hearse... and found nothing so far. However I did find out that it wasn't the only victim of the KAABA Shriners in Iowa... however it's so good to see the only heavy mod was to take off the roof. Here's their former Aerobus:

The carved panel hearses are my one true weakness... someday one will be in my stables. The one in this thread is so interesting!

shriners

They take a lot of eye rolling for their clown cars but you've got to admit theres a fair number of interesting procars that never would have made it to being restored unless somebody in a fez had found a use for them for a few years..... even if the cutting and additons for clown use need to be returned to " original"..........

Thanks Sarah

Just became aware of this thread. Thanks, Sarah, for posting the pictures from Stan Hywet. When I first saw a picture of Bill Wright's car I did a double take. Yep, same color scheme. But his is a '53 and mine's a '54, plus he has the classy upright cormorant on the hood and I have the more streamlined version.

Anyway, just registered for the Hudson meet. Fortunately it coincides both time-wise and geographically with my US visit this year!

Bruce
