October 9, Southeastern Chapter Driving Tour

I borrowed this idea from the Indiana folks who seem to have a good time driving their cars around scenic southern IN. We will head south down SC 11 (Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway) from I-26 in Spartanburg County with several stops along this route. There are many things of interest in this area, so this will be a "drive at your own pace" outing with one or two planned stops along the way so folks can catch up. Tenatively we'll picnic at Duke Energy's World of Energy on Lake Keowee (bring your own picnic lunch), visit one or two state parks, and possibly the Stumphouse (railroad) Tunnel north of Walhalla. Chapter members watch your email and this site for more details. I'll add some hotel info soon for those who want to come Friday evening and/or stay Saturday night. There should be some early fall color by then.
