Not something you would expect of the AACA

the automotive industry has been building these cars for years they call them concept cars. any thing done well is worth looking at.

not the usual AACA

No one is forcing anyone to look at the new display from the AACA. It is like changing the channel on the tv...if you don't like what is on change the channel.
I think any of us can appreciate the amount of work that goes into putting your own ideas into a vehicle. Do we have to like the result? No. So let the museum do their thing and it will be over and gone.
The AACA will no doubt bring us more surprises as time goes on. I will add here that I am a lifetime member of the AACA. I have seen many changes and expect more. The bottom line is the AACA is still here.

Remember this is the same AACA that would not let a Packard hearse on the show field in 1975 now they do. As has been said if one does not like it don't look. I am not a fan of abstract hot rods any more than a fan of hearses with caskets in them but lets respect other views . Let those who enjoy enjoy.

No argument there, folks put a lot of work into making a street rod. But then, a lot of folks put a lot of work into manufacturing and later restoring an original car, too.

I think the museum will do what it takes to bring people (and money) in the door. When the decision is between morals and money, which wins?

I know they played an important part of automotive history, but I'm also surprised to see the AACA with a display of them. Honestly though, I don't care if people decide to hot rod some old cars. There were 30,000+ Nomads and Handymans made in the tri-five years, so if we loose some, I'm okay with it. Same thing with Camaros, in the six figure range for production. It's when we loose the unique or rare ones that I get annoyed with them.

The Cadillac LaSalle Club... has thousands of stunning original cars.

Here's where the difference is... THEY HAVE A MODIFIED DIVISION TOO !

Talk about seeing both sides, acceptance and being open minded.
Way to go CLC !

I bet there are more "car guys" today that like ANY type of car then there are "car guys" only liking ORIGINALS.

Enjoy the originals while we can folks !!! Who knows what the next 20 - 50 years hold when we are all gone.
