Newest addition to the fleet !

Last December I bought a 1960 Cadillac S/S Victoria 3way in Nebraska.

I had it sent to a auto repair place about 45 minutes away to have the car looked over and to make it road worthy over the winter so I could return and drive it home in the spring.

I couldn't find anyone to make the 20 hour each way drive to go get it so I called a car hauler to ship it to Michigan. An easy 4 hour drive each way once it got to Michigan to go get it.

I was driven down by my PCS member and Grave Digger friend Jenny (AKA: DIGGER) to bring the car home.

Along the way, she took a bunch of photos. Her favorite is the one in her side rear view mirror ! Thanks for the photos and drive Digger !

I will be bringing this car to Hudson for the PCS meet. So here are some photos of the car until you all get to see this out of a very long hibernation.

Way to much to write about this car here and now but it is a complete all original car with scratches in the paint and a tear in the seat but I am thrilled to have it back up and running again !

Congrats Darren!

Would be outstanding to see Eddie's (in Cleveland) original black '59 Victoria parked next to your original black '60 Victoria at meet. Maybe Sarah can get a hold of him...

Darren,
Thank you for posting pictures that we have been waiting so long to see. It looks great! One more reason to look forward the trip to Hudson, OH!

Wow, that thing looks awesome! Can't wait to see it next month. I better go back out to the garage.....I still have ALOT to do in order to make it with my own car. Congratulations!

Talk about making a guy envious!

What a great save, Darren! I hope you are having as much fun with your "barn find" as we are with ours. Looks like your coach survived the test of time quite nicely too. Can't wait to see this car in Hudson. Congratulations!

THANKS for the nice words regarding my new hearse.

I attached a picture I took of the car when I got to see it in the building it was stored for many years. All dusty as shown.

I drove 20 hours in December to check out the car. The building was dark even with a sunny day outside. I couldn't get right up along side the car all the way around but managed to get a look and made sure the car was complete with out damage or missing parts.

I couldn't see the paint very well, the chrome was all dusty for the most part.
Another car was in front of it so I couldn't even open the hood to look at the engine. I did open up the car and looked inside. The table was there and the interior looked very decent.

I was there but didn't really get to see the car that well. I had a good feeling so I just bought it anyway. Driving home those 20 hours I was thinking I should have at least wash it off and had a better look at it !

After vacuuming it out yesterday and washing the table and inner door jam/sill areas, I am quite impressed.

I found a few cool items inside which I will post a photo of in the next day or two.

Can't wait to wash and buff/wax the paint to see how I can make it shine.

The engine compartment is decent too !

The car hauler driver was impressed with the condition of the chassis.
He said he hasn't hauled anything this nice for a long time. He says sometimes he is afraid to move some older cars he is asked to pick up because of frame rot. Some ebay purchases are his worse ones.

I don't think I would ever buy another car without a full inspection but I lucked out here for sure.

More info and a list of all the work done to it will follow soon.

Thanks for reading and responding,
Darren

the nice part of the old laquair is it will shine till it's so thin you see the primer threw it. wash it off with a scotch pad and buff it back.

1960 s&s

Thanks again for these, Darren. Mouth-watering, indeed. Is this Victoria a three-way?

I recognize the photo of the aproach to the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit.

And that sure looks like the Holiday Inn Express on Huron Line in Windsor in one of the photos!

Wish i'd known you were coming through. Glad you got it across the border OK. - Walt
