New Tires For The 67

I am wanting to get some white walls for my 67 M&M Duplex Combination, I like the slitely wider white walls, but I'm not sure what a good brand would be to get, or who all makes the higher load rated tires. Any recomendations?

Thanks
Josh

Tire option

Check with Diamondback tire. The cost is a little higher but you can pick what ever modern tire you like and they will vulcanize any style white wall you wish. I have them on many of my cars and have not been disappointed.

The P235/75R15 XL (for extra load) tires are getting harder to find, but they're out there. All of the ones I've come across in the last couple of years are made in China. With this recent tariff on imported Chinese tires, you better move fast before the price goes up! Even though my '75 M-M is still in the shop getting paint/body work done, I went ahead and had one of my tire guys order a set when I heard about the tariff. He found some Kuhmo's for just under 390.00 mounted and balanced. A couple of folks at the Flint meet had Kelly-Springfields in this size.

The Kelly Springfield tires have been discontinued, and there are none in the system.

time to go to 16 in tires. you can at least get them in the right load range and diameter. now if we could get a 16 inch wheel to 15 in wheel cover adapter we would be all set. that or we will all have chrome smoothies with baby moon hub caps. I did check you can get them in the right bolt pattern. the 31 in tall 16 inch tires in a load range c are a bit high though. but at least you would have the right size tire in the right load range. better just bit the bullet and get a set of 700 x 15 toyos. and have diamond cut in the WW. lets see 180 for the tires 80 for the white wall. 260 a wheel x 4. a lot less then a paint job and think of the safety factor. my missed matched 235 extra load are looking better as we type.

rings n things

When I bought my ol' '87 Ford van years ago it had 16 inch wheels. The wheel covers were from Ford cars of the mid 70s. They fit into a 16 inch trim ring which then went on the wheel. So if you have to go to 16 inch wheels it may be possible to keep the original look with a set of rings like used by Ford.
