New Special Member to the Fleet.

First of all, I'd like to thank Jeremy for passing this info on to me.

I am in the process of getting a 1970 S&S Park Row Combination. The thing that makes this coach special is, it was in service at the same time and same Funeral Home as my 71 Superior combo. Its crazy that for 17 years this car has ben sitting less than 10 minutes from my house, and up until a couple months ago, neither me or Jeremy knew it. Shes pretty sad looking right now, but suprisingly more solid than I thought, and very restorible. Heres a couple pics I took with my phone, I'll get better ones after I get her home hopefully one day next week, and get her cleaned up. Again, thanks to Jeremy Ledford for passing this info on to me, and thanks to Jeremy, Danny Ryder, and Dwayne Brooks for keeping it quiet.

I love the 69 & 70 model years and I can't wait to see it all done. That said, after getting the preliminary bill on my 64 I cannot honestly say I envy you at this time. :pat:

Thanks guys. I forgot to minchon, the guy I'm buying it from is a mecanic, and it does run and drive. He told me to bring a good tire, a good battery, and some gas and I could drive it home. Oh yeah, the missing hub cap and a replacement spot light for the pasenger side are in the back.

Good find. The nice thing about a Park Row is the smooth steel top; no vinyl to hide and encourage rust. This car looks like it will clean up nicely just with some serious elbow grease. The S&S datemarks on the hood are a nice detail.

I cant wait to get her home and start cleaning her up. I know the paint on the body and the roof are shot, but I think it might clean up pretty good.

I love the Park Row and would like to own one someday. I am anxious to see how much of that will clean up. When was it last ran?

. When was it last ran?

This coach was last ran in about 1994 as a removal and pick up car when it, Josh's 71 and a 69 M-M Classic Duplex were replaced by a 1984 Superior and a then new 1994 Superior. If this coach had been the 69 M-M Josh wouldn't have found out till after it was in MY driveway!!!!! But needed repairs on the 77 and 73 M-M's won out instead and I passed the info on the 70 S&S to Josh!

nice find man cant wait to see future pix is the casket equipment in back still there??

Yep, every thing casket equipment wise is still intact in this coach! It still has the S&S cot bar in place as well!

Finally Home

Well after what seems like forever, the 70 S&S finally came home today. And yes, it drove home under its own power. Other than the front pasenger side break trying to stick, and a little bit of carb trouble, it made it home just fine. All the lights work, even the one good spotlight thats on it, and the rear interior lights. I plan on getting it cleaned up a little bit tomorrow afternoon, I'll try to get some better pics. Theres also 2 other spotlights, and 2 of the S&S hub caps in the back. It needs a lot of work, but its very restorible. I have to say, its really neet having to cars that were in service together. The last time these cars were together, was in 1993. Now there finally back together again, and I plan on keeping them that way.

Park Rows are one of my favorite body configurations. 1969 and 1970 are quite a statement making body style. I will enjoy watching the progress on the coach. Congratulations!! Mike M.

Like I'd said before if that had been the 69 M-M that our funeral home once had it would be in my drive way, not at Josh's!

Well I didn't get a chance to clean it up today and get pics, I spent the afternoon looking around the shop trying to find a good tire to replace the one that doesn't wanna hold air, and messing with the carb. The guy had tooth pick size pieces of wood holding the choke open. After pulling those out, and messing with it a little bit, i ran it up the driveway a few times, and around the yard. It runs like a champ now. The pasenger side front break is still trying to stick, but thats for another day. Its sad how a car deteariorates when someone lets it just sit outside for years, and only starts it up about once a year. But like I said before, its stil very restorible.
