I picked these up from a local automotive/toy seller. if anyone is interested, he has the other matching license plate. I just didn't need 2 so if anyone is on the hunt for one I can get it to for the cost and shipping.
From what I can find, Belridge Oil is California-based and was bought by Shell Oil in the 70s. The sign has some fairly small holes along the base so I'm not quite sure where it was mounted. Definitely not outdoors as it's not at all weathered. Perhaps on an interior vehicle window? There is no indication of the standard post mounts though.
