New Delivery Today

It has arrived. It is the 1964 C/B Olds that was on Ebay out of Miami. The seller got right on the price and I think everyone is happy. The condition is as good as expected, just needs upper and lower control arm bushings and a new power steering hose. This is a good day in my part of Texas!

I'm trying to attach the pictures but I may not do it right. If they don't post I'll send them to Paul to get them up on the site.

Thanks to everyone for the comments and a special thank you to those of you who helped out...every piece of information that you gave me helped me obtain this car.

I have an email from Clay Center Nebraska where this car was in service. In that email I was given the name and numbers of the last two known surviving Squad members to use this car. I hope to make phone contact with them very soon.

Again, thank you to all of you who helped, offered advice or just put up with all of my questions during this purchase. I have a little work to do on it and as soon as I get caught up I'll post a new album with more detailed photos.

Now I think I'm going to "stretch" out on her cot and take a little nap

Excellent choice Bruce! Very nice, love the color & the overall look of it. Looks very solid, it'll bring you years of enjoyment. Congrats!

She's a beauty!

I remember the thrill of seeing this car for the first time back in 1992. Dennis Svoboda told me about it (and many other procar ambulances in Nebraska) and I couldn't wait to photograph it. At the time, she was the oldest in service ambulance in the state. It was in backup status then and seldom used. I actually got to drive it (yay!) to a car wash and clean off the dust before taking pictures.

Somewhere out there is a set of landau panels and (two piece) casket rack to fit this car. Have you contacted the firm that originally owned it in Ainsworth? Speaking of that, will this car be at the Ohio meet next year? If so, you should probably take a picture of it next to a certain white '75 Olds hightop...it served Ainsworth, too!

Dosen't look like any Criterion I've ever seen. Paul calls me to say I let a Criterion get away from me and it was on it's way to Texas. You know just how funny Paul can be at times.....:yum:

Nice car you've got there.

Today I moved the car from my office where it was delivered yesterday to my home. After some rearranging we got it to fit relatively comfortably inside the garage with enough room to spare for the John Deere toys I've got. It's now insured, registered as an antique and title is inbound. Parts are ordered and with any luck the "immediate needs" will be addressed by next Wednesday.

It's first true public appearance will most likely be at the City's Christmas parade in early December right in front of our 2010 Type 1 Dodge ambulance, (it get's to go in front 'cause I'm the boss and I say so). As for Ohio, I'm not sure yet.

As a side note almost everything that I needed came included with the car therefore I will soon post some things for sale on our site. I'll have a Ferno-Washington single level stretcher, a few various emergency lights, a Sireno ED-10 mechanical siren along with an attendant seat from a '63 Pontiac Superior in really good shape. I've also got a full set of curtain rods and nameplate holders out of the same '63 Consort Combo. I'll get some photos as soon as I can of all of this stuff and do a seperate post.

I still need a couple of things for the new car so we can also talk trades i.e. first aid kit, O2 cylinder and floor mount holder etc.
