I'm in need of a speedometer gear for my 52 Superior. Has the 3-speed on the column. The original had 19 teeth. I'd appreciate any ideas where I could pick one up. Thanks!
Jeremy,
if the original was a plastic gear do you know what "color" the original gear was?
It is also important to know if you have you changed the rear axle ratio or tire size from original specifications?
I may be able to help with this.

This one is actually metal. I expected it to be plastic like most of them. It's not painted either. I got a spare tranny from a friend which is an earlier cadillac/lasalle transmission. Pulled the speedo gear out of that and found that it's bigger and wont fit. Mine was locked up. I torched it to break it loose and that seemed to do the trick to free it up but the gears are too far worn out. It'd be nice to have a working speedometer for once.
Jeremy, try Caddy Daddy, All Cads, or possibly USA Parts supply. I dont have the web address offhand but a google search will easily find them. I recommend calling the places, because just because its not on their list does not mean they dont have it. At least 2 of the 3 places mentioned have salvage yards in the back, or have a vast networking source to find the part.
Hope this helps some,
