That's a nice and fairly rare car you've got there. There's a good bit of detail on the Henney Progress models in McPherson's new Henney book. Good place to start.

Scott, In the book "Setting The Pace : Oldsmobile's First 100 Years", the appendix lists the fact that Oldsmobile made 1,017 eight-cylinder L-36 chassis. That's about all the book has to say on these. Like most marque books, it totally ignores the procars. You may try the Crestline book on Oldsmobile. After the American Funeral Cars & Ambulances book, most of these contained hearse and ambulance pictures and statistics. I'll see if I can find my copy to see what it says/shows for 36 Progress models.

Very interesting car to say the least. When I was in high school, a friend had a 1936 Olds, and it was a blast to drive and ride in. Sitting in the front seat of that car was like sitting in a living room sofa! Getting back to your car....... what type of information are you looking for? To the best of my knowledge, there isn't any records left from the Henny Motor Car Company, and all the information that is available if from others knowledge base. I suggest that you purchase the Henny Book by Tom McPherson and it will give you a lot of information about the company, but can't say for certain exactly how much information it will help with on your particular project. To buy the book from Amazon, click here.... to go to the information page about the book and to purchase it. If you use this link, the website will get a 2% commission on your purchase, which helps to pay the website costs... It doesn't cost you any additional to use the link...
Thanks and welcome to the Official PCS website

I can't say a lot about your car but I have been to the spot it was built.

Thanks Keith , any info is a great help .... I was told it was 1 of 6 by the former owner . He seemed to think that it's 1 of 6 Olds Limos built that year . :stars:
