I figured i had to post some pics of my new camper. It worked well and was very comfortable. the only problem is it blended in with the others. See if you can spot mine.

Good eye Shawn i did get caught with a beer bottle on top of it!! Yes it was alot of fun. First time i camped in it plan to do it more some time.

Its fun. I cant count how many times I did it. Went on several trips this summer with both my hearses, including to Hudson. Beats paying for a room. I often camp at friends houses as well.

it is self contained is it not. the most fun we had with the high top ws on a trip to Ill. took off early in the morning like around 1 am. I drove for a 4 of 5 hr then crashed on the gurney while Kandy drove for a bit. the look on people face when they saw you was priceless. the hears would be better then on the ground but give me a nice gurney any time.

Back in 1993 I use to sleep in the back of my 1968 MM Citation Hearse at my friends cottage often. Likely 10 times that summer.

I made sure the windows were fully up to keep the bugs out and that I was parked under a tree. When the sun came up and if the big black Cadillac wasn't under a tree in the shade, it got super hot in the car. You would wake up soaked from sweat.

I haven't slept in the back of a hearse since about 1995 on the side of I-90 heading towards the Twin cites MN. The Michigan 500 was on and I couldn't find a hotel anywhere. I ended up stopping at a road side rest stop and sleeping in the back on my hearse.

When I pulled in there were about 20 cars. I found a spot and fell asleep.
When I woke up there wasn't a car near me.

Good fun times for sure but I need a shower so a hotel is the way I travel these days. I was never a guy for camping either. Cottages are cool, tents are not for me.

Maybe in a bind I will have to sleep in a hearse again... but hopefully not anytime soon.

Another thing kind of related....
I regret now not taking two girls up on a offer to get in the back of my hearse with them. I met them at a wedding and after it was over, I offered them a ride home in the hearse. They said sure and when I dropped them off they asked if I would get in the back with them. They were mentioning a few things better not said here.

At the time I declined. :halo:

WHAT A DUMMY I WAS !!!!! :bonk::loser:

Oh well, at least I got the offer I guess. :thumb:

Still pissed I declined !
:pat::pat::pat:

If the offer ever arises, don't make the same decision I made !!!!!
:cry:

Do the doors in the "cargo area" have inside door handles? My 86 S&S Lincoln does NOT have inside door handles & I have to crawl through the partition to get out if I sleep back there! I also have used a highway rest area & found that when I got up in the morning, no one was parked near me!

I've camped in the back of mine too. It is especially fun when you crawl out of it in the morning and the looks you get from the other people around you. Glad you had a good time.

The eagle has two door lock buttons in the rear door. Push one down and it pops the door open.

In the morning when i got up the guys said they wish they had a video of it. They were looking and saw my hand come around and hit the button, take down the shirt over the rear curtins, and then crawl out off of the air mattress. They all started to holler that the dead is alive.

My 65 MM 3-way was great for giving the kids a place to crash on long trips. The table made the daddy duty easier, it was the best diaper changing station in the world. Just flip the leaver, and wall-la. The rear air kept the kids nice and cool and the car turned heads everywhere we went. It did disturb folks at preschool, so I quit taking my daughter to school init. I have found a 57 Caddy that was converted into a camper, I hope to buy it in the next few months. The motor is good and low miles, might turn it into a "formal" pickup or flower car. I have to finish atleast one project first per my wife.

I have distant cousins living on a (former) farm in the boonies of Brown City, Michigan. Years ago they used to hold a huge family reunion, for both sides of their family. Lots of people camped. One time Marlene & I brought up my '76 S&S Victoria, outfitted with an air mattress. That night a huge rain storm came up. I heard all the campers scurrying for shelter. With the raindrops on the roof of the car, and the comfy air mattress, I slept like a baby.

The neat thing is that the inner sidewalls of the coach help support the sides of the air mattress and keep it from squooshing out, stays nice and firm. Good going, Rocky! Tom
