Nice!

What an attractive shade of grey, the lines are beautiful, and one of my favorite years for Pontiac. Its a winner to me. Great job on the work done.

I SHOULD OF NEVER SOLD THAT CAR !!!!!!! For those of you that don't remember this car has a interesting history. It was from from Oregon when it was new. The color was Copper like a penny! Doug Scott painted it silver with a light gray top. It was then sold to a funeral director in Plano, Texas named Don Alley. He brought it to the PCS International Meet in Chicago in 1998. On the day of the show he suffered a heart attack and died. There just happen to be a funeral home right next door to the host hotel. His friend Larry Sheppard embalmed him and drove him back to Texas in the back of the car! Glad to see she "he" is still lookin good after all these years.

Someone painted it another shade of silver between there somewhere. there was the blue silver that it was when it belonged to Don Alley and then a different silver underneath that. Whoever painted it before never took off any of the trim and didn't bother to even scuff the door jams before painting. I lovingly named this hearse after Don, in his memory. I plan on putting a tri power setup in one of these days too.

I think it was silver when Doug got it from the funeral home. That must of been the cheap repaint (to cover up the original Copper). I remember Doug saying the top was black and he had it repainted light gray because at that time the car didn't have A/C and he was using it as a driver (A/C later was added by Don). Sure would be neat to see a picture of the car in its original colors! I do like the fact you returned the top back to the original black. That was one of my favorite hearses and one of only two professional cars I've ever owned I'd like back one day! I drove that car on the funeral of a retired Pontiac dealership owner (Dick Choler). It was all Pontiac's in the funeral including a 66 limo following the hearse.

Thanks

Thanks for the info Tim. I would have never known that was the same car in Burr Ridge. Sure looks good now.

We were there, too! The Meet was a really good one, until Saturday morning, when we saw the ambulance and heard the terrible news. I will never forget how somber everybody got. But, the show went on and the banquet started that night. We had a fabulous guest speaker, Mr Todd Van Beck and he had us laughing our asses off. I felt then, as I do now, that our guest speaker saved the day.

Very nice Darlene, is he a combo? I wonder because of the blue lensed headlamps. Great job on the repaint, he looks terrific!

I am always amazed at all of the details that Tim remembers about the cars that pass through his hands. I wish I knew where the model that they made of this car ended up, I would LOVE to have that. I too would love to see a photo of this coach in its original colors. I can remember drooling over this Pontiac at the PCS 98 meet in Chicago, dreaming of owning it someday. I dont think that I could ever let this car go, but I might be willing to borrow it to you sometime. What is the other car that you would like to own again someday, Tim? I recently fulfilled one of my dreams of re-owning a coach that I had in the past, which is the 68 Crown that I sold to Dick Fogle. I bought it back 10 years later, and will never let it out of my collection again. There are a couple others that I have sold or traded that I wouldn't mind having back again someday too, maybe after the restorations of my 58 Eureka & my Lasalle Panel are done, I can save up enough to have a proper storage spot built & buy back another one that got away. Oh yeah! it is a straight hearse, not a combo.
