Most lights on a rig in Hudson?

Thought this might be fun...let's see who had the most firepower in Hudson.

Rules:

Beacons count as ONE light, regardless of how many bulbs they have.

Spotlights count whether they flash or not.

Headlights count ONLY if they have a different color lens. For the purposes of this discussion, clear wig-wags DON'T count.

So far, I think the Mall City rig is in the lead with 23 lights:

I don't know if it had lights behind the grill or not, so we'll say not until proven otherwise.

Post pics of contenders from Hudson, or any other rig you have a picture of that can beat 23. I'm going to dig up a pic of the ex-Reeb ambulance, but I don't think even it has that many.

DEFINITELY a top contender...

I'm going to call this a draw at this point. I think the Mall City rig only has one rear loading light, so my count should be 22, not 23.

Now, depending on how you count the lights on the Medic Mark, I also come up with 22. That's counting each side of the light bar as 1 (which I think is fair), but NOT counting the small lights on the back of the stainless cones as separate.

I didn't think anyone would be able to overcome the "Michigan 6" lights on the sides of the Mall City ambulance, but we may have to go to a bulb count to break the tie. or a vote on how the lights should be counted.

Truck Mirrors

Who owns the old Evan Butchers 1971 S&S now? That is definately one beautiful and fully equipped S&S! MM

Bruce B: The truck mirrors shown on Evan's Old 1971 S&S should be the ones that originally were on your 1973 S&S. Not knowing any better at the time I gave him our's and put some NOS Regular Cadillac rear view mirrors on ours only because I didn't like the "truck mirrior" look.... although immediately sacrificing the safety of the ones it had on there. I also gave him a new Twin Sonic center screen as his was dented. MM

Mac Gilpin, Ontario, Canada, and his son Mark brought the car to Flint and to Hudson. The truck mirrors are no longer on the car. Those pictures posted above were taken in Flint in 2009. Here is a picture from Hudson.

Thanks Kevin. Late one evening Mac was talking about a possible trade for my Lifeliner saying how much he really liked it. I should have gotten that inked before I left and before reality set in. Heck man, I'd throw some money in on a deal like that!

Beer causes people to do strange things. That is one sweet rig!!!

The 1971 S&S was the ambulance I first thought of to count as well. I count 21 lights but that is counting the whole light bar as 1.

I get 23 on the Mall City rig and 22 on the 71. Remember the red ambulance sign lights up so need to count that and there is a beacon on the rear roof too. I thought I might get in on this but I only made it to 18. Is a clear wig-wag a MARS 888 light? If so then the Mall City rig needs to reduce their count by two.

By wig-wag I was referring to alternating flashing headlights. Technically they should be counted too, but for what we are doing here I thought it would be too hard to verify in pictures if a vehicle had them or not.

I figured your Lifeliner would be in the mix, but those square red lights on the Michigan rigs make them hard to beat. Mall City also has a Lifeliner with 22 lights (23 if you count the "Ambulance" sign). I came up with 19 on yours including the ambulance sign, which probably puts you in a solid 4th place. Most other contenders top out at 16-17.

I need to see a picture of the back of the van that was at Hudson. From a front 3/4 view I count 18 lights, but I would assume it has at least 1 loading light and maybe a couple flashers in back too.

Edit: Smith Van had 20 by my count.

Mall City Criterion: 23
Mall City Lifeliner: 23
S&S Medic Mark: 23
Smith Van: 20
Richard's Lifeliner: 19

Hey Todd, I forgot about my "LIFELINER" sign on the roof so that would be 19. Thanks.
