I took the afternoon to work on the 54XL. The lawn can wait another day......
Did an oil change and fixed the downshift switch. The problem with the downshift switch was that it was not plugged in and none of the bolts holding it in place were tight.
It took me a little while to find the female plug that connects to it, but once I did I plugged it in, adjusted the switch, lubricated all of the moving parts on that side of the carburetor, and off we went for a test ride. It is now working like a charm.
