Madonna's dad's hearse..

I've had a couple people ask me what kind of hearse was used in the funeral for my father-in-law, which was Thursday. [he died on Monday about 18 hours after I got back from Milwaukee] It was a 2006 Eagle, tan with a maroon painted roof. I know the funeral home has an older hearse just like this one [about a 2000 model]. The funeral home was G. H. Hermann in Indianapolis. Photo by John Rabold outside the church.

Please give Madonna and her family our condolences. I was not aware of her dads passing. Paul & Sandy

Sorry to hear of the passing of your father in law.
Thinking of you and your wife during this difficult time.

On a brighter note... great seeing you in WI !
Your limo, now known as Lizzy, found a loving new home.
You made them a happy couple.

Take care,
Darren

Larry,

Our condolences to you and Madonna and her family at the death of her father. Thank you for sharing a photo of this beautiful and unique Eagle Cadillac Echelon hearse that was used for his funeral.

Based on the style of chrome wheels and the stance of the rear wheels, this appears to be one of the last 2011 Cadillac DTS hearses, built on the W29 chassis. These were different from the heavier-duty B9Q chassis cars in many ways, but the most noticeable differences are the wheels and (if you happen to drive one) the much improved turning radius.

If the funeral home has an older model just like this one, the oldest it could be is 2008, the year Eagle introduced the Echelon limousine-style coach.

I was pleasantly surprised at the color scheme of this coach. It certainly stands out and is not the traditional neutral colors you normally see.

We have some Eagle Cadillac Echelon coaches where I work, and they are silver over dark blue. This month I am told we are trading in 2 of our older coaches (2002 models) for brand new ones that are all black. That should be neat to see

And Larry it was good to see you again, I wish it could have been for a more happier setting. I was glad I was able to at least stop by between our own services :)

replies...........

Darren, I received a nice email from the Barruzzas today telling me how much they like their 'new' '96 commercial glass limo. Mike said he got good gas mileage and the car ran well the entire trip. I am glad, it is always scary to sell a car to a friend.......especially a 17 year old car which is 800 miles from home. But I knew it was a good car and I hope they like it as much as I did. Now if I can just find the owner's manual which is somewhere in my garage..........and the 5 missing cigarette lighters which I had no idea were missing!! I can picture at least some of them being there in the past which means at some point someone stole them at a car show. Mr Rabold, thanks for stopping by the funeral. Good to see you again too...............

lighters!!

Well, Ed I need the lighters so if you can part with them, let me know. If you can, just send the lighters directly to the Baruzzas in a padded envelope and send the bill to me and I'll pay you for them + shipping. I'll find a 5th lighter someplace. I'll check my Escalade and if the lighter in there has the crest on it I'll send that one to the Barruzzas as well.

I still need the lighters.....

No reply from Ed so Danny I'll take you up on your offer. I need 5 if you have them. Name your price. You can just send them to me or directly to the Barruzza's, doesn't matter. I'll be sending them a box soon with a couple of red lights and the limo owner's manual in it anyway..............
