The Mid-Atlantic Chapter celebrated it’s 25th Anniversary this weekend. Hard to believe it’s been 25 years already. We had a great weekend event, and we were glad to host some friends from out of town to join us for our party! Great weather too, except Sunday morning.
We started with the pizza party at the Hampton Inn in Shrewsbury, PA on Friday night. A lot of pizza was consumed, along with many beverages. We also watched video clips of movies that MAC members’ cars have been used in over the years.
Saturday, we had lunch at the Friendly Farm Restaurant in northern Baltimore County, MD. We had 9 professional cars in attendance, and several members without cars. We even had birthday cake! :happybday1:
After lunch, we had time to share literature and photos, and an awards ceremony. Two of the charter members of MAC, George Hamlin and Gene Lichtman, were in attendance and were recognized by current chapter President (and piano player) Jeff Beyer.
After the awards, we went in a motorcade to the Speedwell Garage, a local Packard & Studebaker restoration shop. They were already having an open house, so there were quite a few folks there when we arrived, and they were impressed with our cars! Gregg Merksamer enjoyed a ride in the Packard Speedwell speedster custom built by Ross Miller.
On Sunday, we visited Penn Dutch Restorations, which has worked on quite a few professional car restorations (including mine). And those who hadn’t had enough visited the Lichtman Ambulance Farm as well!

Maybe we’ll have a 26th Anniversary party next year!
