Hello
I have a friend who is currently working on a 68 Superior/Cadillac....(Ambulance)
When he aquired the car,it had no window decals.:(...he was wondering if there were any specific templates,or perhaps a company that made reproductions ??
The particular one he is looking for is the "atom" design with long stripes....
Any help or leads would certainly be appreciated....
Thank you....
Jim

I know of no company that makes the original design transfer decals, however, with a picture of what he wants, most any vinyl sign company can duplicate the original. The one difference that comes to mind is that the reproduced product will have the glue on the backside, and will require that the vinyl be adhered to the outside of the glass. In some cases, there are vinyls that are translucent, and can be applied to the inside of the glass like the original. Look through the pictures posted in the photo album to see what you can find.

Any competent sign shop can easily replicate this. We have 40" & 48" plotters here for cutting vinyl and the job would only require a 24" - so there shouldn't be trouble finding a qualified local shop to handle job. Application fluid and a squeegee rids air bubbles when applied from the inside. Only item to keep in mind is slight loss of color going through tinted glass (like original). Metallics don't look as sharp from reverse either. All your friend needs is a straight on side shot to take in.

window markings

Jim:

Superior changed the window markings every year. The "atom " markings were applied on the 1970 models. The 1968 are different. I have forwarded you a contact by private message.

Good luck.

If it is the frosted glass effect you are looking for, I have applied it both interior and exterior on glass with good results.
I have it in both "white" and "pink"

Thank you....

Thank you all for your help so far.....
I think I told him the same thing regarding the atom decal....he says he knows its not correct...however he likes that "look"...so thats why he wants to go with that,,,,thanks again !!!

1968 Superior

Here is what the correct 1968 Superior Cadillac ambulance window insignia looks like. Kevin Lynch, who is a member of this message forum, has restored a 1968 Superior Cadillac 51" Rescuer ambulance, which currently belongs to an ambulance service (and I cannot remember the name or location off the top of my head.) That car has correct window decals and could possibly be used for measurements.
