If you ever actually do sell that car Ron, warn your local ER first. I foresee a bunch of people in a rumble in your front lawn if that day ever comes!

Ron:

The funeral home 2 miles north of where I grew up had aan light blue one just like yours. It was still inservice as an ambulance at another funeral home in the central part of the state until 1977. Do not know what happend to it after that. The funeral home that had it first only used Pontiacs comnb cars and station wagons because the funerl director liked to drive fast as he put it. His last one before phaseing out the ambulance service was a long wheel base 1971 C/B Olds

Kyle's response shows a ready, hungry buyer. They're never around when I want to dump one. :(

here is a photo of the 1987 Eureka Olds that Mitch is talking about. Its fairly rare because Eureka never really built a whole lot of Oldsmoble-based cars.

I hope the Funeral home will sell it to a Pro-Car enthusiast and will preserve and appreciates the car for what it is.......extremely low mileage, one owner car that is fairly rare.

As nice as that car is, I would not expect someone to trade a 60's combination for it without alittle coin to boot!

I really don't think the Funeral Home would expect someone to trade a 60 or 70 combo for their 1987 olds Straight up, I pretty sure Mitch just mentioned that they have have this car for sale, if anyone was interested in it.

I wouldn't be so sure, the owner of the coach (John) told a friend of mine he turned down a offer of $8000.00 on this coach from a car collector near the Batesville, Indiana area. But, that was a number of years ago.

That is a rumor that John turned down 8000.00 for the car I was with him when he was talking to the gentlemen. the offer was more like 3000,00.Same person started the rumor that the 94 M-M that was at the facility he sold had title issues car has had a clear title for years

Thats no rumor! It was in a email John had sent me after I offered him $2000 for the Eureka. He replied by telling me that he had a offer of $8000.00 from a car collector near Batesville and as for the 95 having title issues, I heard that from Rick Kline ( John's employee ) when he said John sold him the car and he took the title to the DMV and they told him a second title had been issued and it had a lean on it. Rick said he couldn't title the car. The Eureka is a nice car, I know it was Terry's baby. I hope it finds a good home!

Tim before I was in emergceny communications I was a salesman. That 8000.00 story was to get you to raise your offer. The 94 was never sold to Rick. It was rented to him for a dollar.

Combos

I knew when I posted that pic there would be some banter. That car always turns heads. I will never forget the day I bought it. It was the 2006 International Meet I was engaged in spirited negotiations with Rick Duffy trying to buy some high top he had (he was in spirited stonewalling of me) when I saw it across the lot. I politely excused myself went over took the for sale sign out of the window, put my name plates in the car and THEN set out to find the owner so I could buy it. It was love at first sight.

I remember the story from a different point of view. I was talking to someone when I saw it drive into the hotel parking lot, with the owner's nameplate in the window and a "for sale" sign. I thought it was about the (2nd) nicest combo I had seen and was interested. I finished my conversation and walked toward the hotel where it was parked. And it already had "Devies" nameplates in the window. That fast.

And I remember a third version. I didn't pay attention to the nameplates, but when I saw the for sale sign across the parking lot, I literally went to my car with Jen to get my checkbook. Then when I got to the car, someone (not the owner) told me it had just been sold. Looking back, I wonder if that was Ron who said that to make me go away???

Maybe..........I might remember telling someone that............
