Points to ponder:

Are you sure you want the rear flasher on the siren? Normally these weren't used on hightops. What you probably want is a standard C6B. Either way, it should have a Solar Ray light to be period correct.

Superior used their own (adjustable) brackets for the 1965-70 models; these aren't easy to find. If you use the standard Federal contour mounting base on your car, the siren won't sit horizontally straight.

C5 vs C6B

So Steve,

I was told that as soon as you add the light to a C5 it becomes a C6 ?

True or False ?

I have a C5 (without Solar Ray) but with a steady burn on the 70....just wondering if it would be considered a C6 ?
Thanks in advance...:)

Federal's C Series models were coaster sirens with 8" rotors:

A = no brake
B = brake
R = rear flasher

C4 - painted
C5 - chrome
C5L - stationary sealed beam in front, flash or steady burn
C6 - moving light in front; started with Traffik-King pre-war, then Propello Ray until 1958, and finally Solar Ray

The Cs have the sweetest sound and longest roll of any coaster siren.

Thank you Steve !
Glad to know I have a C5L...since mine has the badge missing....and as far as the mount I have looked for over 2 years with no luck....
