Lifeliner with the "Q" mounted

Finally got around to getting the "Q" mounted on the Lifeliner. Wow, sure fills out the roof. It sits a bit too low so I will remount it a bit higher this weekend then work on getting it hooked up. This will give me (3) active sirens on this beast! Good thing I purchased a battery charger.

UpDate: The A/C blower fan would come on then off whenever it liked so I wired it direct with an on/off switch. Certainly will have to get a complete new system. Also changed batteries out from 700 cranking amps to 850. Much improved.

Enjoy the day people!

take the 28 off. no need for 2 mechanical ones on it. the electric gives you the pa. did you miss the mount brace on the front set of bolts? I think it looks good down that low and as long as it's mounted threw the brace just under the roof it's OK.

the blower coming on and off is normal for that system. it should have 4 speeds and never drop off low unless it in the off position. as the temp sensor indicates the temp in the car is getting up to the setting on the wheel it cuts back the blower speeds. there is one whole section to the manual I gave you in operation functions of that system. and a pretty good troubleshooting section to test where it off at. i'm still trying to figure out this 63 to 68 system. but access is the big problem there.

Richard - Keep both sirens. I remember an ambulance service in the 70's who ran a "Q" on the roof of their rigs, with a Model 28 or similar unit under the hood. They would wind one up, and when it started to coast down, would put the juice to the second one. It sounded like there were 2 units responding in close order.

Looks good Richard, as long as you "caught" the brace you're gonna be OK. If not, it's gonna get ugly in a hurry the first time you torch that baby off.

I remounted the "Q" last evening moving it just a bit higher. Good thing I did since now all four bolts are through the added brace. Next is to get it hooked up.

with the three lined up across it looks balanced. the Q is so big no matter were you put it it blocks the sign. but it's best with that waight to have it all on the brace.
