a few may remember my statement that were Kandy and I had lunch Tuesday being under feet of snow Friday. will as predicted it happed last night. we how ever were just enough south to get only rain. 37 degrees out there and 98% humidity and we have a combination of rain, snow, sleet and hail. they got rain turning to snow. this storm is dumping on a spot bigger then the north eastern US but sparsely populated so lest see if it get a mention . come on global warming can't wait till it gets here. but as a side note this is not unusual the only month there has not been measurable snow in SD is August. so here is my brother in laws front porch this morning and my back yard. but just for balance they are calling for 70 on Monday planning to paint the bottom of the stoner that day. thanks Rick this stuff came from you, I'll pass it on to Tony.

AMEN ED !!!!!

Well said and exactly what I would like to see asap.

Evolution and the changing world won't likely be seen by either of us unfortunately. That is a slow moving thing and we won't live to be hundreds or thousands of years old.

Where is that spray can... I need to make that ozone layer a little thinner.
Oh wait, the cows are doing that for us.

:D

I can't believe my Barnette came from your state and was not all rusted out. South Dakota must not be salt crazy like Michigan. They dump it on the roads here by the semi loads....

That "time of the year" must be getting close. Barb went for groceries yesterday by herself and came home with some food related to the season. Breakfast this morning was cheesy scrambled eggs and 2 pumpkin spice donuts.

As my friend Don used to say ".....the Hawk (cold winter wind) is lurking out there somewhere...."!!!

All in all though, we still love the change of seasons versus the weather in Arizona...two seasons hot and hotter!

At the end of the day.....Al Gore is still an idiot, a very wealthy idiot, but an idiot nonetheless!

it's done here. there is patches of blue sky and water running fast. overnight low was 30. now the wind today will be a factor in the open country. the fronts blow in and out of this country, they can't just sneak in. nothing like having inside jobs on day's like this. but I can say one April we went to Prescott Az for my grandfathers birthday and got snowed on. that was in 1980. now up on the ski slopes this was a record beaker. they got 48 inches at 6000 and up. beat the old recorded for snow on the 4 of October by 2 inches. that record was set clear back in 1998

makes my bones hurt thinking of snow. and to see your beautifull olds in it. i have room in the wharehouse for free storage. ill even come get it for you..just trying to be helpfull...

the story 0f life around here had the olds not been out in it the 92 would have. I can only get 5 inside. had not taken the others to there winter storage yet. with 3 in down for repairs the ones at are ready go are sitting out. everything that stays outside is normally under a cover to keep the freeze thaw cycle down. that is what really tears a car up fast. but today we are up to 50 all ready the streets are clear and we can swap cars around again. the only way to store a car is to keep driving it.

now remember the title of this. the boys up north are still digging out after 2 days the interstate is still closed and we have not gotten mail or a paper out of Rapid for two days . but today I took Mom and Dad out to the closed national park for a drive moved the stoner out to scratch pad it down so I could paint it tomorrow. my son is stuck in Gillette wy, his wife is just north of Rapid has not had power for two days (the photo electric cells don't produce with no sun) and can't get out. me I in my shirt sleeves braking into a sweat rubbing on the truck. my brother in law spend 6 hr snow blowing his driveway in Spearfish. his city street is not plowed he can't go any were. me I pulled the CB around and put it in the garage so it won't get sun burnt. and shake my head. I still marvel at people to crowd up were there is the most crappy weather. one of the herd mentalities I can't under stand. but keep quite about it I don't need them down here

if it doesn't happen in a dense population in doesn't happen. the big thing is the cattle drift in front of the wind. end up floundering in the heavy snow drifts and die from exhaustion trying to get out. the same things that kills most people when they get trapped in similar conditions. you over work then over heat and die from hypothermia.

we had to go up to sturges today to drop off the truck. they still got a lot of snow up there. but today it heavy rain and high wind . at least it's not white

the surest way to know winter is commig is when the weeds start migrating.
