Like some other members, my trip to the annual meet in Hudson has been delayed by technical problems. First there was a fiasco w/ my plan to change the oil at home rather than make a trip to my barn where there's a pit and a shelf full of filters, zinc additive, etc. for my cars. Changing it here would have saved time but the parts store didn't have a Fram PH25 filter. They cross referenced a K&N number, but that WASN'T a correct interchange. So I essentially did two oil and filter changes Sunday afternoon/evening. When I was getting my a/c charged yesterday the blower motor went out. I found a replacement and the swap was easy, but no go when I hooked it up. My mechanic discovered this afternoon that the failing motor had melted some wires and connectors to the fan relay. What can you do but laugh? Things seem to be working now, but my planned departure this morning didn't happen! So, the '72 is gassed up, forward and after torpedo tubes loaded, twin behind-the-headlight 50 cals. aimed & loaded now I'll finish packing and go to bed early for an early departure tomorrow. Isn't that what The Great Santini did? Looking forward to seeing everyone in Hudson!
