remember the times when you never looked at the thermometer. just judged the temp by if the hair froze in you nostrils the first breath and how high you sat in the seat when you tried to start the car that had been sitting out all nigh as you could not afford a garage or even car port. will this one is for you. Thanks for the memories. As an Ex Hoosier I will have to confess I do MISS those kind of mornings when the air is so pure when you breath in it almost feels like a knife is slicing one's lungs.

30+ years of California and Desert living have faded them.
 
Now that Ed, made my day! Much appreciated. I truely remember the days of having to go warm the car before you go. Down my way it works in similar fashion except we go COOL the car before we go.

Similarities:

1) You warm it to go, we cool it off to go
2) You sit high in the seat, our seats are too hot to sit in
3) Your's cranks slow due to cold, ours doesn't crank at all because battery was too hot and blew up
3) You add air to tires due to cold, we let air out of tires due to heat

See Ed, not much difference except you can ride snowmobiles up your way in the manner in which they were intended.

Ed.. don't touch the gas pedal when you first crank it. Then if it doesn't start, depress the pedal about 4 or 5 times. Usually the bowl in the carburetor goes dry overnight, and it take the fuel pump a while to refill it. If you set the choke first, you run the risk of flooding it. You also might want to take the air cleaner off before you start it and depress the pedal once to see how the choke setting is. Many times, they need to be reset after the winter months set in, especially after a rebuild.
