Thank you!!

My good gracious, thank you, Tom! A beautiful example of one of the most remarkable coaches of the '70s. Although usually I give my styling approval nod to Superior, the '71-'76 S&S models are just stunning, especially when viewed in profile and from the rear. Superior has nothing on them. I think it has a lot to do with the severe forward slant of the rear door. I just can't look away! Of course the historical significance of the Centennial for '76 just makes it stand out. You're such a fortunate guy! Good on you for persevering that gorgeous piece of history.

Kevin: that '72 would be my second pick for a '70s S&S coach. Great grille on the '72 Cads... And having the Series 75 to match? Amazing!

Also: Tom, what tires are you running on the '76? Perfect whitewall width for that car, tread pattern looks appropriate, too.

Have fun at whatever's happening Saturday, guys! :)

Thank you, Kevin! Even more beautiful than I pictured it. What a clean car, with clean lines. I gotta say I am partial to this thread! '76 & '72 S&S Landaus: my favorite funeral coaches of the '70s. Perfect stance & proportions!

Wonderful! :applause:

Agreeing with my dear friend Dave. (Good to see you on here, man!) These are both perfectly tire-wise, too. Would love some input on the brands and availibility of both types.

The double white bias ply tires are "all it and a bag of chips" on the late '60s and early '70s Cad coaches in my opinion! I agree with Ed on bias vs. radials on these commercial cars anyway. I also prefer the look of the bias ply on the '73 and older coaches.

There are some good points made here regarding correct tires. For a long time I have pondered what the correct tire type for my '76 should be. In '76, radial tires we coming into vogue, so it wouldn't surprise me if my car originally had radials. But I have noticed that the speedometer is slightly off at highway speeds, indicating to me that my radials are not correct. But I've been spending so much money on cars and tires lately, the '76 is going to have to live with radials for a while. If anyone can conclusively tell me what S&S put on my car at the factory, I'd love to know.

You probaably have this, Tom, but this is what the '76 S&S brochure shows. I don't know if we can be 100% certain what tires were put on these cars, as there may have been some customer-preference / options availalbe with regard to tire type and size of whitewall. Hess & Eisenhardt may have preferred the use of steel-belted radials in order to emphasize the smoothness and handling of their cars...?

While we're on the subject of nice Victorias, I thought I'd share these images of a 1969 S&S Victoria 3-way that was in service at the Dull Funeral Home in Baldwin, WI. (RDW collection)
