July 8 - Ohio PCS and CLC meetup, Cleveland, Ohio - who's going?

I posted this in the events forum, but I wanted to make sure no one missed it and that people had a chance to chime in and let us know if they're coming, so I'm posting it here too. If you're interested in coming to the meet, please let us know! I know Ron is going so far and the Chris Axelrod will be there. Anyone else? Below is all of the info.


Chris Axelrod, a PCS and Cadillac-LaSalle Club member has invited the Ohio PCS and other Cadillac professional car owners to join them on Sunday, July 8th for their Gathering of Land Yachts in Cleveland, Ohio. Join them at Voinovich Park (the park behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame) for a day of big Cadillacs and fun. Below is some info from Chris about the meet:

"The Gathering of Land Yachts sails into downtown Cleveland, Ohio!"

On Sunday, July 8th from 10:00am until 4:00pm The Western Reserve Region of The Cadillac LaSalle Club will present the largest gathering of classic Cadillacs , known as "land yachts", in the region. This free event will take place at Voinovich Park on the North Coast in downtown Cleveland next to the famed Goodtime III cruise ship honoring club member and ship Captain Rick Fryan and his passion for classic Cadillacs. There will be plenty of family activities, Goodtime cruises, oldies rock music and visits to the nearby Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The summer shores of Lake Erie and the Cleveland skyline are ideal for this popular event. Classic Cadillacs of all years, makes and models will be on display for judging with trophy awards. Dress in nautical theme and join the fun.

If you bring a Cadillac that you would like to display (you can get it judged if you'd like too), registration is $12 in advance and $15 on the day of the show. All cars that are on the show field must have a fire extinguisher.
 
I would love to go. Seeing as I couldn't take my car to Daytona, this would be a nice day trip for me. Count me in....have a lot of cleaning to do before then, LOL.
 
After looking at the pics the CLC has posted on their website (from the link above) from their last meet just held in Florida, I am wondering if I should even take my car based on the fact that all the cars look PERFECT. I don't want to be laughed out of the place.....Sarah, you have been to some of these things, what do you think? I don't want to embarass myself, LOL.
 
Shawn, I've only been to a couple meets that we held in conjunction with the regional CLC chapter, but from what I've seen there, you are absolutely fine. The local cars are not all Pebble Beach material by any means. I know you're all nervous about your car, but you shouldn't be. Your car is pretty awesome, whether you want to admit it or not. ;) All of our cars have their flaws, but usually the owner notices those flaws a lot more than other people. You'll be fine. The organizer, Chris Axelrod is a member of CLC and the PCS and he wants both clubs to be represented, so I hope that you can make it. I'm sure that you, Ron and Jerry will have an awesome time.

I will definitely be there and will definitely be taking a cruise on the Goodtime.

I plan to be there on the 8th. This will be a bit longer trip. So far the newly revived 61 is doing fine. A longer trip is probably in order.
It has been so long you may have to remind Ron and Jerry what my coach looks like.

Sarah maybe next year, my wife has been sick with some complicated problems that only women suffer from and being 67 the d@mn male doctors don't listen or believe her that she's having this trouble so I have to go along and they seem to treat her a little better when a man is around but that still is no guarantee that they won't listen. That's why I haven't been online for a bit, going to all these d@mn doctor's appointments!.... Have fun at the Cleveland meet!! Take PLENTY of pictures so I can see what I missed!!
