John Ehmer's 1968 Superior Flower Car

Rick Duffy

PCS Past President 2010 - 2012
To whom it may concern,

John is still settling with the insurance companies, regarding the damages sustained in his February roof collapse.

So far, the have been dealing fairly with him, I'm pleased to say.

Regarding John's'1968 White Flower Car, the insurance company will be arriving at some point tomorrow to tow the vehicle to COPART in West Mifflin, PA (a suburb of Pittsburgh)

At this point we don't know what will become of the car... whether it will be scrapped or auctioned. The car runs/ drives well and prior to the roof collapse, showed well!

There is some damage to the passenger side roof which John believes could be repaired. The car will also need a new windshield. There is minor damage, mostly dings, small dents and scratches to the body and hood of the car. The "Flower "Pot" stainless survived VERY well, with only minor damage!

This car could/ should be saved and fixed if anyone has an interest.

I will post additional information, once I know the full story. I'm told that the car would be a great buy for someone who has the resources to save/ repair it.

I wanted to get this information out sooner than later!

If you have any questions , please call me at 412 551-0020 and I'll try and answer them.

Thanks!

Rick

PS. The 63 Buick Hearse and the 76 Buick Hearse will be the next cars to go.

one would think that now days the insurance co would be sharp enough to gather up a loss like this and re market them on a site like e-bay. threw a broker. but most of these companies have contracts with salvage yards. when they totaled out a car it is sold to the yard at a set percentage. so as they go there and no were else. if you can find out were they have the contract to sell them you maybe able to buy the car from the yard before it hits the scrap heap. if not it's one more gone. these people have a vary different view of value and worth. most have no way to deal with the public and have no desire to start. pay the loss, sell the car for scrap and move on is there way of doing business. as every other way just compound's the loss.

What about his 57 flower car?
Ron,

The '57 MM Flower Car is still for sale and is off-site in a protected warehouse. It has similar damage to the '68 Superior Flower Car, except on the other side... although not as severe.

To my knowledge, the car is for sale... and John will no doubt make you a deal... with a special "Cleveland Brownies Discount!":loser:

Anyway... He has not discussed price with me, as I am not interested... and already have DIBS on the '64 Buick National Ambulance!

I'd be happy to express your interest!:D

Whoa!

Rick,
You know I am a ambulance guy and I would have have it fumigated for Steeler Cooties. I had never got to see it though. Besides I am a little pre-disposed with my own acquisition.

Copart

COPART is an insurance auto salvage auction. They do NOT scrap them themselves; they sell all vehicles at auction. Out here in Washington, its all done online; not sure if thats the case in PA
