JFK combination car has a new owner

The 1964 MM combination car that transported JFK's body to Dallas Love Field now resides in Phoenix, AZ. Apparently, Ardeen Vaughan let the coach go recently. No doubt he didn't get the astronomical price he was offered at an auction back in 2007. I won't be a bit surprised if this historic coach appears at the Barrett-Jackson auction in January.

I wonder if that astronomical bid was legit, does anybody know if there was live money on that car? We all know the car has value, but the number I heard seemed just a bit strong, in my opinion. I could believe $250,000, or something in that range. If it does go to B-J, we will then find out alot about what it is really worth.

you have got to love there spiel. "the last ride of JFK". maybe in Dallas if you don't count the jet and the fact that he never touched a cushion. the last ride would have been the lowering device that nestled the coffin in the hole. to me this car would have some impact had it not been returned to service worn out repaint twice ETC. it's kind of like the original axe used by Daniel Boon only had the head changed twice the handle 6 times.
