It's official, I'm now a pro car owner.

Finally making it on here to announce that I'm the proud new owner of the 1968 Miller Meteor that my brother bought last year. I paid him for it and took possesion of it a couple of weeks ago. I've been racking up miles ever since. :D I've been driving it back and forth to work and took it on a 300 mile round trip to visit a friend on the west side of the state last weekend. She's not the greatest looking on the outside right now, but she runs great and the interior is in excellent shape. Well that's it for now, just wanted to let everyone know that I'm an excited new pro car owner.

Congratulations! I think '68-'70 Cadillac engines were among the best built. Because my '76 original engine died while owned by a previous funeral home, it has a '69 engine in it and I wouldn't trade it for the world. Tom

way to go from the pictures it looks to be a nice solid car. check out he drain holes in the bottom of the doors. for some reason Miller tended to fold the outer skin over them blocking them off . keep them open and the car will last a long time. center doors mostly. that first year 472 is a hot one.

Excellent choice for your first hearse Tim!
Question... are the chrome draperies on your doors the ones that were on one of the coaches you guys had at Hellfest 2012? I remember meeting you & your brother there & admiring those (and taking several pictures!)

Thanks everyone for the compliments and encouraging words! :) To be honest the pics that I posted are doing the car a lot of justice. She's still pretty rough body wise, it's a true Michigan car that's seen it's share of road salt. Most of the lower body panels are pretty crunchy, it just doesn't show in the pics. My brother did do the acetone/paint mixture treatment to the crinkle top and that helped the car tremedously! He also hit the right rear quarter panel and doors with a wire wheel and shot some primer on them to protect them until we can get around to doing serious body work on it. I've put new white walls on it and put the fender skirts back on it which helped it's apperance a ton also. The car runs and drives like a dream, but really does need a lot of TLC body wise. It'll be awhile before I have the time and money to really tear into it, but it's a fun driver just the way she is for now. ;)

I love those swags ....

I love the swags on the doors of that car. Dodds-Dumanois Co. in Flint had those on every car they owned for many years. The last was 76 I think. They are really stately.
