Its a Major Award...

Well, it's been a pretty good couple of weeks. Three weeks ago, I got Second Place at the Packard National Meet for the Henney Junior. Two weeks ago, I won First Place with the Junior at the PCS meet.

Today, I got this in the mail from the Studebaker Driver's Club. It's the Harold E. Churchill Award for the Best Article to appear in Turning Wheels (the SDC magazine) in the past year. This is for my article on the Studebaker Ambulet and its visit back to its original hometown in Minnesota last July 4th. The same article also was in The Professional Car earlier this year.

I had no idea such an award even existed, and I had no idea I was nominated or had won. But it's very cool!

Not tooting my own horn, but I was very proud of the article and amazed that others found it interesting as well.

(Wait, "Non-Paid Category"??? You mean I could have made money off the article, too???)

Steve, If your not tooting our own horn you should, and loudly. Congratulations!:applause::applause::applause:

Super!

Steeeve!

Excellent!

The more good stuff that comes out of the PCS and from our wonderful and talented members... continues to move the Society... where?

Yes... that's right!

Onward and Upward!

GREAT job Steve!

See you in a week at MAC's 25th!

Rick

We're very proud of you....these are the positive and wonderful things that
we are striving for in our wonderful organization.:)

Recognized by your peers.....

Steve: It's always nice to be recognized by your peers (without any self-promotion) and also often by people you don't even know for the hard work and many hours of time and money we all put in to these "saves" for the good of the hobby. In 2004 our former 1956 Meteor-Cadillac Ambulance was in the CLC Calendar (September) and the one and only year that Hemmings did a fire truck calendar, (3) of our units were in there out of the total 12 months, all submitted by others without us knowing it was hapenning! MM

Congratulations Steve! I heard that horn all the way down here in South Carolina! hah hah-j/k of course. This remind me how researching the history of your car can often open up all kinds of information. I've been remiss in not doing this on some of my cars-it falls in the "good intentions but haven't had time to do it" category, I guess. Not only did your research on the 'Stude Ambulet benefit you, but also others in the hobby. I had seen a neat looking F250 King Ranch diesel FS along my way to work this week and just got off the phone w/ the owner. (Fortunately) it's just sold, but I got some good information about these heavy duty pickups and powertrains just from a brief phone conversation w/ the guy. As we know, most car (and truck) folks are usually happy to share their knowledge!

Congratulations Steve! You should be very proud of the car, the article, and what you did for the townsfolk when you brought the Ambulet back to the town it served.

Way to go, Steve!

We have a very talented member in our Chapter! As MAC gets under way with our 25th anniversary celebration weekender starting later today, we will have a VIP in our midst.

And a dedicated contributor to the auto hooby, and PCS at the Club AND Chapter levels! (Can I have your autograph??)
