It has begun!

I patiently waited all winter for first warm day of the year to start on my '68 Superior Crown Sovereign Combo, and it finally arrived. I got the carb rebuilt, and put it back on, and put a reman power steering pump in. I also changed all the belts. A quick oil change and a splash of starting fluid in the carb and she started right up just as fast as I turned the key. It was a GREAT feeling to hear her running. Now its time to figure out the brake problems, fix the exhaust leak, and find someone to fix the rotted frame rail so I can bring it to inspection (JUST TO GET ISSUED A TITLE!!!). Thanks to everyone who has provided me with information!! :thankyou2::thankyou2::thankyou2:

Fantastic!

The excitement in your post is obvious. What a great feeling. Please post some pics when you get a chance.

When it is spring in New Jersey, it is only 4 more weeks until spring arrives in New England.........:4_11_9:

At least you don't have to deal with 75 degree temps already like I do!!!! :14_6_12:

I had to turn the A/C on at the house yesterday....

How hot does it have to get before you can turn the A/C on in the ambulance? :pat:

I don't need A/C in the ambulance Paul. Just make Terri mad when she is with me and rest assured it can be extremely chilly in the ambulance then!!!! :bonk:

Still need to get the A/C's fixed in both ambulances but the Criterion will be the first one.

re:frame repair

I would make sure you choose a repair shop carefully! frame repair has to be done properly. I have seen a lot of bad repairs on frames. ask other old car guys in your area for input as far as where to take it.congratulations and good luck:bonk:

I'm definitly going to scout for a good shop to do the welding. I unfortunately didn't know about the frame rot before purchasing the car off of ebay. My own mistake for not asking though. Thankfully, it's not too large of a section. The body looks to be in pretty good shop, but the entire car, with the exception of the chrome and windows was kryloned black by the previous owner. The jump seats and any rollers were long gone when I got her, so I have some parts hunting to do. The dash is immaculate and it has factory AC, but the rest of the interior is a disaster, but I'm up to the challenge. I'm going to try to post pictures tomorrow evening.
