There is no commercial advertising allowed. You must be a PCS Member and / or Site Supporter to post in this forum. All responses to these posts, such as price negotiations, etc. should be done by Private Message or eMail. All For Sale items must contain a price. Once sold, please make a final post indicating that. Special Note, when doing business with other members ask for references etc, Buyer and Sellers Beware, we hope each person is honest. We do not support this area of the website, buy and sell at your own risk.

Can we post people to avoid buying parts from? Say, someone has a proven track record of taking your money, and not shipping your parts.

We cannot allow any posts that would reflect negatively on any member because of liability issues. If you have a problem with a seller, then that is between you and the seller, or the buyer as the case may be. At this time, we will not take any action against any buyer or seller for any performance deficiencies. If a problem arises between the buyer and seller, it is up to them to resolve the situation between themselves. The "for sale, trade, swap, etc." forums are just like newspaper classifieds. The newspaper doesn't get involved in disputes between the parties, and neither will we.

Just a suggestion about Russ wonderings, there is some other forums I use that have sellers reputation options, where you can add comments on the sale which is not public but only on the member page, as references as a seller or buyer.

Since on the forum we have PCS members, Site supporters and enthusiasts of pro-cars it could be interesting to give to PCS members a way to buy with trust. Kinda privilege to PCS due pay members to have access to the sellers reputation.

Membership can be much more than a mailed magazine, let's give some web privileges to our fellow members.

I can agree that we shouldn't "slander" or "flame" other members. But it would be nice to have a place to review transactions.

For example, " I purchased a piece of molding for my 58 Superior from Joe Shmoe. Joe was nice to deal with and shipped my parts promptly after receiving payment and kept me informed. Nice to deal with"

Or maybe if you hadn't had such a good experience, well, I'd like to hear about that too. Hearse parts are kind of hard to find. This forum is a wonderful resource for said parts, but just like anywhere else, I'd like to know which sellers and buyers are honest and dependable, and who to be weary of. There's lots of places to get parts, so if you can avoid getting tangled up in a bad deal with a little forewarning, wouldn't you?

Certainly just my $.02. I have an idea of who to deal with and who to avoid, but many others may not.

I agree that the transactions are "Buyer beware" and that you are buying at your own risk. However, you use the newspaper analogy. Hemmings is a "marketplace" that many of use and they have a process in place that if there are unresolved issues with an advertiser, then they refuse to accept any more advertisements from them. Something to consider.....

If only members and site supporters can post here, aren't we duplicating our efforts with a "for sale" section in the members only discussion forums?
