Jeremy D. Ledford

PCS Volunteer Chapter President
Important date, June 13, 2011.

I realized today that on June 13, 2011 I've been a pro-car owner for 10 years! On June 13, 2001 I purchased my 73 M-M Classic Duplex! Although still not totally finished and where I want it just yet I've brought this car along way as you can see from the pictures posted below!

Congrats to both of you. I know first hand that Jeremy's car has come a very long way sence the first time I saw it back in 2001. In october of this year, I will have owned my 71 Superior for 10 years. She was my first Pro-Car also. The first pic is from out back of the Funeral Home the day I got her. The second is the same day after the wrecker dropped her off at home. She is currently under restoration looking even sadder. I'll get her finished one day. 2001 must have ben a big year for Pro-Cars.

Josh

Time goes by fast!

Seems like just yesterday I was considered one of the "kids" in PCS. Now you "kids" are making me feel old! It was 25 years ago in March that I brough home my first pro car: a 1968 Superior Cadillac 51" Rescuer. You three were smart and held on to your first one all these years. While I am proud of the collection we have now, I wish that first '68 was in our garage...

Nice before and after pictures of your Pro-Cars guys and what a great opportunity to share pictures of my Lifeliner AGAIN!! I'm very excited to be able to see Jeremy's in Ohio. When I first got my Lifeliner Jeremy was the first to step up and donate a ton of stuff for my car which Jeremy, is well appreciated.

This was the first picture I saw of my baby looking a bit rough. Chief Ron was involved in picking her up and holding her for me for a few weeks and can still remember our conversation as he said, "Just strip her down and junk it Richard".

Hey Sarah, our Pro-Cars had the same Daddy. I wonder how Dave is doing thinking I might have to stop by and see him again. He would be proud I'm sure!

Sarah, that would be great if Dave came to the meet. I'd even pick him up in my ambulance if that was necessary.

Congratulations to all celebrating anniversaries! :specool:

Ok Jeremy, that made me think, I started working at Chapman Funeral HOme June 11, 1979 which was 32 years ago and that was first day I got to drive old blue also even thought I was suppossed to be 18 they didn't have anyone else to drive and we got a call that night about ten minutes after I got there.

I bought my 1941 Henney-Packard out of a junk yard in 1972 for $125.00. Next year and $$$ later i will have had the car for 40 years. It took 12 years to restore it, finishing it in time for the Packard National meet in Houston, TX in 1984. Just had it re-painted again in 2009. My favorite car in my entire collection.......... We use it 4 or 5 times a year at the Funeral Home upon request.

Seeing Rick's post on purchasing his S&S Lincolin Dearborn Coach in April 2003 made me think and look and see when I purchased my 77 M-M Christine (see avitar photo). I purchased my 77 M-M Landau Traditional 8 years ago tomorrow on June 16, 2003 fresh out of service just a couple weeks after the funeral home that bought it new traded her in on a 1998 Superior Cadillac Statesman hearse.

Congratulations on ten years of pro car ownership Jeremy and Sarah.

I got my first professional car on August 13, 2003 and it's a keeper. I replaced the back bumper center section with a NOS piece I found in Iowa. It was not rusty, it just had a big dent above the left reverse light. The car has been to one prom and brought all three of our boys home from the hospital ('05, '07, and '10). While I bought it from Tampa, FL, it was originally a funeral home car and came from Greenacres, WA.

My memories from that day: Will we ever get to Columbia? It is hot as h*** out here. Has my son lost his mind? And just WHO are those PCS people he is mixed up with?!? 6 years later, I had a hearse! :pat:

Congratulations on your milestone, Jeremy!

I reached my Ten Years of Professional Car Ownership anniversary in 2009, which celebrated the 1999 purchase of my 1980 Superior, which I still happily own. I remember thinking then, "I have a hearse now; I'm happy." Yeah, right! Six hearses, three limousines, and two flower cars later (although one limo and one flower car did not stay in the collection and now have new owners), representing cars that were acquired from six states and one European country, the addiction/madness only gets worse!

Oh well, I can think of worse things to spend my time and money on, as I'm sure you can too!

Man, I hate to even think about how long ago this was...
I bought the Studebaker Ambulet in June of 1971, the month I graduated from High School.

That means I have been a pro car owner for yikes... 40 years.

I just took it for a drive today, putting on a little over 26,000 miles in those 40 years.

you all have me beat. I did keep the 72 cb for 10 years but no longer have it.
the 86 is the car have had the longest it' been to most meets also

I bought my '75 superior in march of 2008 and plan on keeping it for a very long time since i have got the car i have replaced: windshield, rollers and casket floor, rear bumper, and alot of the engine. I am glad to see that so many of you have your first pro car. mine is my first pro car and she will remain in my ownership till i probably die

Come on Steve, I need to pick him up in his old ambulance or Sarah's one day. That would be so neat to have him there.

Let us know Sarah!

Richard

PS: Thanks Jeremy for stating this thread. This my friends is what I love about the PCS. We're having fun!!!!
