I was at a car show Friday night and this ambulance was there. I kept hanging around to meet the owner but he never showed. A few minutes later, I looked back and it was gone! It was a 2-door Chevy with one jump seat in back. It had etched windows, so I assume it was originally an ambulance. Any ideas who made this? Thanks. Jim

Looks like a standard Chevrolet Sedan Delivery truck to me. Without seeing the actual vehicle, I can't tell from the picture if the ambulance symbols on the rear quarter glass are actually sandblasted or are peal and stick frosted glass vinyl. I don't believe that the standard sedan delivery has enough room behind the drivers seat to accommodate a gurney. On some that I have seen, the passenger seat has been relocated to the rear of the drivers seat, and the gurney is on the passenger side of the vehicle. Do you remember the location of the passenger seat, or if it even had a gurney in the vehicle?

I just stopped and saw the car in person. It's at Brooks Auto in Auburn, MA. The glass is definitely etched. The stretcher is there, just fitting in the back. The inner door has a mark where the stretcher contacts upon closing. Real tight fit. No plate for who built the car. It's a 1953 Chevy.
