Hudson is Now PCS History

Ron Devies

PCS Ohio Chapter President PCS Past Vice President
First of all I want to thank you all that came. It was so great to see you all again and meet many of you for a first time. I cannot believe so many of you beat me home. I live 45 minutes from the meet hotel and people in Canada still beat me home.
We left around 10:30 to take Bob Smith's first wave of cars back to Dover. We got as far as Canton and the car Dan Skivolocke was driving blew the right rear tire. After getting a flat bed rolling we continued to Dover picked up Bob Smith and headed back to Hudson. After arriving there Kyle and I set off to take the last Smith car to his Massillon station and the first wave of my cars home. We made it onto Route 8 and the Smith car died. I took Kyle back to the hotel and he stood by with our van until Smith Ambulance could send another flat bed, turns out it was the same guy who picked up the Smith Pontiac. As soon as Kyle got back we took off again for the last of the DEVIES cars.
I have to tell you though when we went there that last time the place seemed so empty. As I pulled around to yesterday's show field that yesterday was packed with people and cars now had two cars in that entire lot! I went into the hotel as I forgot to turn in my key and the desk clerk told me she missed having us there that our group was so nice and so friendly.
The staff went above and beyond and I do not think we could have asked for a better host staff. It all came together, thank all of you for making this meet soooooooo special.

It sure is a sad day after the Saturday night light and sound show when you see everyone loading their cars and heading home.

I watched the Smith cars as they were leaving the parking lot with all my friends driving them. Sarah was making a trip home with her first load too.

It is sad saying goodbye to people you care about so much.

It's a good thing that there are some chapter meets and the micro meet to catch up with friends between International meets.

It truly is more about the people than the cars in my opinion !
The cars have a close second.

Darren

Well I just made it home after finally getting my car from the hotel. My combo was the last procar in the lot. Thanks to all who came to the meet. It was great hosting you all for the week. I'll post pics tomorrow. See you all in Daytona!

moving the multie cars is a real headacke. I want to thank everyone that did. to see them all togather is a real treat. this was what it took to have the record braker we just did.

First of all I want to say a great big thank you to everyone who worked there butts off to make this meet possible. I can't remember the last time I had such a great time. The cars were amazing, but the best part was Seeing all my PCS friends, and finally getting the chance to meet many of you that I've never got the chance to meet in person until now. It truely is about the people, you guys are like family to me. The worst part about the meet was having to leave. After the light and sound show, it started getting a little depressing. Sunday morning, it got worse. My car didn't even want to leave, we had just crossed over the kentucky line, and it over heated. Pulled over, called Jeremy, and he was about 30-45min behind us. Then I get a txt from Danny saying where you at little buddy, and with in 5min here comes Danny Ryder to the rescue. After figureing out it was a stuck thermostat, we jumped back on the road and had a good rest of the trip home. Hope to see everyone again soon.

Josh

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Thats what I have to say to Sarah, Jerry, Ron, Barb, Kyle, Amy, Jim and EVERYONE else who took part in putting this meet together for us! A great time was had by all that were there! Man I can't wait for Daytona next year!

Record Breaking Meet

Arrived home around 6 PM last evening after spending the week traveling the Midwest to see several friends and, of course, attend the PCS Meet in Hudson. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who had a hand in making this the QUALITY meet that it was. Yes, a new record was set for the number of vehicles, but it was QUALITY ALL THE WAY!

I, too, enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones, many of whom I had gotten to know here on the message board but never had the privilege of meeting in person.

Based on the enticing pre-meet publicity, I was sure that the host committee sent this Coupe De Fleur to escort me through Columbus on my way to the meet, but when asked, nobody admitted anything! :blahblah: Must have been an omen... :D

Thanks to everyone that made this meet not just another great meet, but a spectacularly fantastic meet, from the meet committee, and all the worker bees, to the judges that performed a great task under the hot Ohio sun. Considering that at the beginning of the week, we were making alternative plans on how to judge the cars if it were to rain, we lucked out, and the rain that was forcasted went elsewhere. Yes, there were over 120 cars at the meet, but it wasn't just about the cars, but about the people also. Thanks to all that drove from far and near to being part of this spectacular meet. Hope to see everyone in Florida next June.

:thankyou2::thankyou2::thankyou2:

I want to give a hand to EVERYONE that had a part in making this such a great meet and a fun time! I don't want to start naming names because I don't want to leave anyone out. The meet committee made sure everyone had a great time, and the hotel staff were great. It was great seeing everyone and meeting new people (and cars!). When we left Sunday morning, there were very few cars in the lot and it was sad to see! As Josh said, and kinda depressing! We didn't want it to end and Jeremy, Kent and I joined Carl and Tim in Cincinnati for a late lunch. Will be taking Elmo home in a little bit and then it's back to the real world! THANKS EVERYBODY! And now we can start the countdown to Daytona! :drive2:

Don't forget Dan and Chase. The meet was great. Thanks, again, to all of you that helped make this a record breaking meet.
The inspector (per Tony Karsnia) says it was terrific!

Yes, just what Jeremy said, THANK YOU! Ron I was well on my way to RI when that tire blew out so I think it is YOU who has the bad karma buddy! Thanks again to the Ohio Chapter!:applause:

Can't wait to print the story!!!!

We always enjoy producing the meet issue, but this one is going to be just incredible. I can't wait.

...The staff went above and beyond and I do not think we could have asked for a better host staff...
I had a great time, and I want to echo Ron's comment here. We've stayed at a lot of nice (and one not-so-nice) hotels at PCS meets, and the staff has almost always been good. But the staff at the Clarion were exceptional, very nice, people you felt really liked having you there as a guest. They didn't dote on us like we were snobs, but they really were there to help and just very friendly. It's rare when I even know any of the staff's names, but it's been several days and I still remember their names.

...We got as far as Canton and the car Dan Skivolocke was driving blew the right rear tire...
Well, at least we made it home without any blown trailer tires on the return trip. Blew a couple on the way out. Heck, I couldn't blow any, they are all new or less than 2 years old now!
