Hershey bound in Oct

How many of our members will be going to the Hershey, Pa auto show and swap meet in Oct? If I don't get called for jury duty in federal court I will be leaving on Oct 5 for Pennsylvania. How I have made it to the jury pool 4 times now this year is beyond me. But I digress.
If you get to the show my spaces are on row C4E spaces 7-11. We are close to the steps and walkway over the road to the Giant Center and close to the food vendors. I won't have my 61 MM there. We speak PCS at those spaces.
Actually we speak several 'car dialects' at those spaces.
Stop by and say hello.

I will be at Carlisle the week before and headed home just as you are arriving. I hope that you have better weather than we seem to always have at Carlisle. The saying goes...... If it isn't raining, it isn't Carlisle!! Rumor has it that the same motto goes for Hershey. After trudging through the mud one day too many, I have sworn off Hershey. My first visit to Hershey was in the fall of 1961, when your car was just a pup! :D

Anyone coming to Carlisle or Hershey, we're not far away if you want to see the Ambulance Farm. Call or e-mail me. Paul, don't you need to stop by and pick up a few things?

Keep up, Paul! Hershey is all on paved surfaces now, no more mud.

By the way, I wasn't born yet in '61........ Indeed, most "antique" cars today hadn't been manufactured yet.

Hershey mud...history

Hey Paul,
On my first trip (1970) to Hershey I too was just a pup. The fields are no longer mud. I don't know how much it cost to pave everthing with blacktop but they did it. Now if you want mud for old times sake you will have to look for it.
Hershey certainly has changed over the years but like the lemmings, we still go.

Won't be long until someone will be selling "Genuine Hershey Mud" at the swap meet as a collectors item.

I'm going to the Springfield Ohio swap meet this weekend. May take the ambulance to the car show. Next weekend there is also a big swap meet in Canfield, Ohio I'm told.

When I went there for the first time in 1961, the "field" was in front of the school, and the air strip was also part of the front of the school. When a plane was taking off or landing, everyone had to clear the strip or get run over. Those were the days when everything was either old parts or new parts. I don't think that the term NOS had been invented yet. I owned a 1926 Buick Master Model 54C, and was able to find many of the parts in the second floor of the Buick Dealership in Keene NH. There were even some old cars that had been traded in that the owner decided to keep in that building. The new cars in the showroom then are todays antiques. :(

Springfield Ohio this weekend

Todd,
I am going to take the 61 MM to the Springfield Cars and Parts on Friday. We have a concert on Saturday so whatever I need has to be found tomorrow.

just a reminder

Remember if you are going to Hershey stop by C4E 7-11. We speak PCS, 32 Ford, 37 Buick, some IH, VW and more at these spaces. I won't have a procar there unless I find one when I start walking the rows of 'bargains'. We should arrive late afternoon Tuesday and will be there until Saturday early afternoon.
