Help !

I'm putting this out in two forums because I need help asap Today !

doing the brakes on my 87 Eureka Cadillac FWD with 4 wheel disc brakes.

the front are fine BUT the rear brakes are the problem

when my mechanic ordered the brakes for a deville they were too small....so he went back two years and forward two years....nothing fits all too small

does anyone know what Eureka would have used as rear brakes in 1987 ???

HELP anyone

thanks Mike

According to Tom McPherson, the rear axles of these cars were designed by GM and made for Eureka by a manufacturer in the Southern U.S. The commercial trailing arm and beam rear axles used in the FWD Eureka-Cadillac professional cars were fitted with disc brakes from the Pontiac 6000. These Eureka professioal cars were the first to be equipped with 4-wheel disc brakes - even before Cadillac offered such a feature. Four wheel disc brakes were an optional extra on the companys Buick and Oldsmobile coaches but, were standard equipment on all FWD Cadillacs. Eureka adopted this axle design to eliminate the intrusion into the casket compartment by the strut towers such as seen on competitive FWD Superior and S&S hearses. At least, that what I'm given to understand. Try brakes from a 1987 GM A-body.
