got to putting things back in the cab of the 66. Jim wanted seat belts and the I found some off a 66 with the big buckles. had to go to two different cars to get them but we ended up with a good set. I went to put them in and I can't remember. for the center seat was the buckle on the right or left. I'm thinking right but it's been so long since I tucked them in back of a bench seat I can't remember.:stupid:

Which side?

Well, the long side with the buckle is on the left (sitting in the seat) and the short side with the receptacle is on the right.

In a 95 Eureka Buick anyway.... ;)

Seems backward to me at first, but since most people are trained to be right-handed, it's usually easier to make adjustments on the right side.

HTH

WHAT?????? I'm taken a back. The main man himself is confused!!! I thought I felt the earth shutter yesterday and just ASSUMED it was another quake in Haiti but come to think of it, it did come from the northern midwest! :yum:

The tongue goes on the outboard sides for both driver and passenger. The middle belt, the tongue goes on the left next to the drivers buckle end. The middle passenger and passenger both have the buckle end on the same bolt, and either buckle end can be used by the outboard passenger seat. It is done this way so there is no confusion for the driver. I checked the assembly manual and this is how it shows it configured.

got to breathing to may glue fums yesterday. glued in all the sound deadener inside the car and man that stuff will knock you down. had the doors opened and the fan going. knew I was in trouble when I sat there holding the belts in both hands wondering what these things were for. in theory either way would work. but yes the double buckle goes on the passengers side. I even forgot there are 4 cars sitting out in the yard set up that way. all I could remember is the Honda has buckets. the car I took the retractors out of was a 66. someone had all ready removed the seat and took the center belts with it. found another set in a 68 but the retractors were different still big buckles so I grabed the center belts the 68 used a bigger bolt. I should have knowen I was in trouble when it took 15 minents for that to sink in. but today is a new day and no more glue. I don't see what huffers find so good in that stuff. :poster_oops:
Richard that was Yellowstone you felt just normal for up here. I'm just glad we still have power about 1/2 the state has been out for a week now with that last ice storm going threw.

Why do you need seat belts? There is no seat!!! :bonk::D:D
(Sorry, I had to say it)

want to bet. look again. I would not have put them in, Jim wanted them. but it is a interesting thing as the car is new enough to be under the law in most states and it was equipped with the anchors for the belts. they were filled with seam sealer. so if some young man wanted to press the point I guess one would have to pay the fine. or would have now. as there in there.

yes I had them do that one. a vary close match to the original one. at least the patterns is the same. two dead cows and 6 or 8 vinyls and it looks new again. now I need to get it covered up so that Jim puts the first crease in it. I see I missed one leg. best get some black on it.
